People who only apologise after they are called out have no reasonable defence.

It’s obvious Azeem has been racially abused. It’s obvious he has been racially abusive.

Telling everyone to grow up before anyone has said anything. What a bizarre thing to say.

My opinion is that whilst all the racism directed towards Rafiq is completely unacceptable and where there is proof there should by recriminations, any sympathy I may have had towards him has disappeared. He’s no better than those who have abused him.

Was talking about the more immediate social media reaction. Whether someone is racism on an individual level or corporations at an institutional level - all is equally wrong in the same measure. But this ohh looks he’s racist too so everyone is at it - grow up ffs.

I don’t read any of that tripe. Anyone who falls for it all is a bit daft or naive imo, and are giving the trolls exactly what they want.

This is what I’ve been saying all along. Why was he quiet for so long? It wasn’t just that he was in denial, he seems to have been very similar to the people he is complaining against.

However, what happened to him was still an absolute disgrace and hope it now doesn’t get swept under the carpet.

There is the whole context issue. To a normal level headed person, sharing a joke definitely isn’t as bad as being racially abusive over a long period of time towards an individual. But the social media world doesn’t really attract the normal folks, so he’s really opened himself up to a bucket load of extra pressure.

I find it bizarre that people are using this disgusting Facebook comment by rafiq 10 years ago as some kind of comfort blanket to avoid the actual discussion this week. Rafiq has been an idiot - not just today’s antisemitism but also for doing things against his beliefs to “fit in” as he put it - lots of people in this world that go Through shhht but don’t do that.

Facts are that Cricket is institutionally racist in this country, Yorkshire's handling of it was diabolical, the ECB aren't for for purpose. None of that's changed
