We played like a team without jeopardy.
Wayne has obviously asked them to play without fear all season and we’ve seen that in parts in games.
I think the message got through and we did pass it around a lot at the back all game even when Muff were chasing the game. There was obviously the error but on the whole it worked well and we were able to exploit space in midfield after we beat the press.
I was looking to see how we’d play and to be fair we didn’t play any differently to normal, tactics wise, it was just the execution was better.
Shout out the pocket Shinnie, Liam Thompson, who really got at The Cherries all game long and used the ball well when he had it. Good debut but not getting over exited about him yet. He doesn’t need the weight of expectation people put on Sibley. Louie’s back with the U23s getting game time now.
Knight is already too good for us and I think he’ll go on to have a great career at Prem level it’s just a pity it’s not going to be with us. If we can keep him til the end of the season that will be great but we’ll see.

15 behind now, it was 18 yesterday…

I`m unsure of the "rules" but can Liam Thompson only make one more appearance for us this season? I assume he`s not one of the original 25.

Just saw the highlights, their equalizer was beyond shambolic, Pickford would have been proud of that

Yeah, guys, just cos it's legitimate for goalkicks not to go out of the area, doesn't mean you HAVE to do it !

I honestly have no idea what Rooney thinks can be gained from the Chuckle Brothers "me to you, to me..." goal kicks, it's beyond ridiculous?

............. and before I get slaughtered, that is my only criticism of Rooney, who is fast becoming a Derby legend.

I believe that the number of players we are allowed was extended to 25 after the extra points deduction was accepted. But we cannot pay transfer fees or loan fees and wages must be approved by EFL as part of this business plan malarkey. So I think Thompson is one of the extra 2 we are allowed. Now, how that affects Jags and Balders who are only signed until Jan then I do not know.

He did explain in his post-match interview hinting that he wanted this type of play because he felt it was perhaps the best way to deal with the Muffs, ie draw their forwards towards our goal to create space in midfield and then exploit that space. Great if you've got defenders and a goalie who are comfortable with this (eg Man City). Also I suspect WR wants to play from the back because of lack of a big striker up front (unless, presumably, CKR is in the team). Personally I see nowt wrong with a good long ball over the top. If one of ours does not get on to that ball at first there is always the chance of getting on the second ball and anyway that tactic has the merit of turning a defence.

Roos has got tourette's syndrome in his feet.

I certainly understand WHY Rooney wants the team to do it. Hitting it long generally guarantees giving the ball to the opposition. Even with CKR up front we will lose possession more often than we retain it. It just needs care and precision. Roos often gives me a heart attack because he dithers and allows himself to be closed down. Today he took a daft touch that cost the goal. I still think it's the brave and correct thing to do with this group of players though. A lot of our best play today came when we beat the press and were able to move the ball quickly and well through the midfield.

Do inverted wing-backs have a role in all of this? I feel that they should!

Yep, it did look like that.

Prior to Bournemouth's second goal, Roos kicked it long into their half. We didn't touch it again until it was in the back of our net. So it's not necessarily safer to kick it longer.

Much like you vidal, (particularly if I'm stood behind that particular goal), it gives me palpitations when Davies and Roos do their double-act.

There are ways & means though. That was a particularly kamikaze one today

Strictly speaking its a fruit gin. We have Josta Berries (Blackcurrent x Redcurrent/gooseberry), which, with Wine Society High Strength Gin keep the lights on during a Lewis winter

I think I need Josta berries in my life! Never heard of them before, but a combination of two mighty flavours!
Unable to find either gooseberries or rhubarb here, or proper cooking apples - nothing sharp.
