This has to be a home win for us. Confidence still clearly not heading in the right direction and the Crustal Palace game provides the ideal opportunity to reverse that.

2-1

Joffy on the bench tonight (U23s) so might get a run out tomorrow

2-1 to us, I think. Fancy Raph and Rodrigo on the scoresheet.

After our impressive start (the football has been so much better under PV) we seem to have hit a wall recently. Don't get me wrong, they deserved the win on Saturday, but Villa were poor but we had no answer.
I'll also go with 2-1 and the three points going to Leeds tomorrow............along with the bragging rights going to my dad.

Overdue a win. Gallagher is going to score and get mom so we're gonna have to score 2 aren't we Massive home double header.

Not often we play a team whose weaknesses play to our strengths, but Palace have those soft spots we can exploit, if Marcelo plays the right players in their natural roles. I think Tyler made a case for a place at the weekend, possibly at the expense of Harrison, and keeping Joffy on the bench if that is not working out. That would allow DJ to take the left and Raph on the right, with Rod to play up front. KP and Forshaw look good for the midfield, with Struijk, Coops, Stuey and Llorente at the back.
Gallagher looked subdued for Palace at the weekend, possible injury? However, with Zaha and Benteke on the pitch, a goal can arrive at any moment. Villa seemed to contain them without doing anything special at the weekend, and a solid performance from us with the crowd behind us should see us over the line. We just need to play our football further up the pitch, and get more movement out of our front line. 2-0 to the mighty whites, with Rod and Tyler to surprise us all.

Paddy completed 90 mins against City tonight, bodes well for the weekend.

Really impressed with the job Vieira has done so far. This is going to be tough and we need points quick.

Would like to see one of Roberts, Joffy, or Rodrigo up front.

I can’t believe Bielsa has tried Llorente as a right back and it definitely hasn’t worked. We lose width and build up, as well as making it so much easier to defend against Raphinha by being able to double up.

And lastly I want to see both Phillips & Forshaw in midfield. Phillips was brilliant against Kane as a cb but we can’t afford to lose him from the middle.

Priority has to be getting more control of the ball and increasing our possession.

He might even make the bench tonight. I saw the first half and he looked pretty fit. Ayling did 45mins too but maybe he needs a bit longer.

Both could be back by Sunday I hope.

Big game tonight. We need to keep Gallagher quiet and we should win.

I’ll be there with my lucky vintage shirt on. It’s not seen a defeat this year

I’ll go 3-1 Leeds. It’s time we got some lucky breaks in front of goal.

Roberts to get one I hope.

Covid spot checks tonight. Nobody will be turned away tonight but could be in future if the govt. moves to plan B.

Wouldnt be that surprised to see Tyler start tonight. I thought he actually played well when he came on v Brighton

I’d prefer Roberts over James up front, and for all the hype over Joffy he’s still very raw. Roberts would have been criticised massively for some of the things he did against Spurs. Wouldn’t mind seeing Roberts tonight just so we have an actual striker up front and leave one of Harrison or James as an option for the bench.

Does he stick with Firpo? He needs a run of games

They're a good team. It'll be tough. Gallagher's having himself a season. And Viera looks like a great hire.

I think Firpo was awful on Saturday, but he won't improve by being dropped for tonight, you're right, needs run of games.

Id start Roberts. Going forward though, if we lost Bamford again, is this 1 up top formation we persist with actually hindering us?

This is a huge game and as much as Firpo needs bedding in getting the points is the priority and the same on Saturday. We will see Bielsa's position on that tonight but we need to do what we need to do to win the game.

If he does play then I'd have James on wing to offer better protection and start Geldhart up front. If he goes with Roberts fair enough but playing players in natural positions feels like the way to go.

Firpo looks like a complete dud. So far. If anyone can turn him into what we need, it's MB and his magic wand.

To be fair he’s been in and out of the team and it’s a baptism of fire in the PL.

I’d start him tonight and keep Harrison on that wing. Maybe Dallas or Shacks into MF and certainly Kalvin in his usual position.

Roberts up front and James (or Harrison) on the bench for me - keep one fresh for the second half.

Rodrigo or Roberts up front for me.

They have only won 1 more game, we need to win this.

Firpo has only played 7 games for us, including cup. Needs some more time before he’s written off, as awful as he was on Saturday. Had covid, an injury, new league, new club that isn’t having a good season

Shades of De Bock. He came into a new team, league and a side that were on a losing run with red cards in 3 consecutive games and with Saiz suspended. I didn't think Firpo looked that bad, was just outgunned by Lamptey. Should maybe have gone for Orta's other left back Galan for 3 mil
