No Plange for the under 23s tonight which is interesting.....
Yes, I expect a nostalgic and emotional weekend. I haven't seen my mate in over 30 years. How did we lose touch? Some might remember Nobbler who used to occasionally come on here, maybe he still keeps an eye. Nobbler was an Apostle and so was my mate (it's Gange, Nobbler, if you are reading this).
While at Uni I got a couple of tickets to see Tom Waits in London and we drove there in my orange VW beetle. The following week Derby were to play Forest in a League Cup tie and my mate (who was a Coventry fan) made a casual comment that he hoped Forest would win. I refused to let him in the car until he withdrew the remark and we had a comical stand-off in the street outside our student house which lasted a very, very long time. I can't even remember now who, if anyone, gave way but we drove there in silence, saw Tom Waits who was very good indeed, and then drove back in silence. When we got back in touch recently after all this time I mentioned the episode and he claimed to have forgotten it. Nonetheless he gave a full apology (as he should have done thirty years ago) and we have put it behind us. He had better behave himslef tomorrow. He has now switched allegiance to Bristol Rovers and claims he hates Brizzlle City with a passion so hopefully all will be well. I will try to give a match report but I expect I will be having a beer-fuelled trip down memory lane tomorrow evening.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that our fame spread that far, Watters, but our entire squad was eleven players only.
Our arch rivals were the ludicrously named Entire Population Of China. We had many epic battles but we generally had the upper hand. In 1990 I was on a scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef and got chatting to a chap. It turned out he was a former player of the EPOC and we had played agaisnt each other. They say it's a small world and ain't that the truth.
