Anyone who actively promotes anti-vax views or muddies the water in a tongue-in-cheek way is helping nurture an idea that is killing people. It's despicably irresponsible.

Idk if this is directed at me but if it is, all I’ve done is highlighted what is becoming a very serious issue. The cause of these health problems are unknown and for that reason every possibility should be considered.

I wish Admin would draw a line on all of this now. I know it’s a lot of work for them, but are new articles enabling the dumping of misinformation appearing every single day at the moment, and it won’t be doing the site any good at all, ignoring the impact that the circulation of such nonsense is having more widely.

If Lindelof has 5G implanted, does that mean we can use a PS controller to help him track back?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. They work on Bluetooth. You’ll need to get within range, and follow him around.

I do think it's a concern and I'm sure that club doctors and relevant organisations are looking into it.

I'd be wary though about the stats you see on social media regarding athletes collapsing and/or dying.

These lists are put together by people with an antivax agenda, and they will happily include suicides, people who were ill before being vaccinated, and people who didn't even get vaccinated.

They know people will share these lists, and reach and impact are far more important than accuracy.

It seems that I fell for it here, but i took the op at face value regarding player health. It didn’t occur to me that it would be an anti vax article, as it wasn’t mentioned until the comments.

I have posted links several times in the last few days from multiple fact-checking organisations who have worked with the IAA, FIFA and other global administrative and regulatory bodies dismissing rumours of increased numbers of CVAs and other medical incidents of similar severity amongst elite professional sportspeople.

The short answer, OP, again, is that there is no empirical evidence of an increased number of incidents.

Feel free to ask Admin to delete your article.

Yup, they have absolutely no interest in facts. Just spread as much nonsense as they can far and wide to catch as many idiots as possible who then do the same.

It's aimed at anyone does what I described above.

As for your OP, you don't directly associate it with vaccinations but I still find it irresponsible to be asking questions about 'what might be the cause' of a phenomenon that is based on an anecdotal sense of this happening more often (is it really backed up by stats?) at a time when we are awash with misinformation that is directly making claims that vaccines are causing this to happen.

'Just asking questions' is a well rehearsed tactic for anti-vax trolls and other internet ghouls to put out unscientific ideas without having to back them up, and then enabling them to suggest their reasonable exercise of free speech is being attacked when they are challenged.

If you weren't aware of this context and you wrote your post in good faith, that's good, and I hope you're more cautious about how you talk about these issues in future.

Unless they can provide figures showing an increase in athlete collapse that directly correlates to vaccination status and is not linked to any other underlying condition then it's just more made up crap.

Even then there's a danger of false equivalence that the lowest common denominator will pounce on.

I’m double jabbed since July, was one of the first in my age bracket to take my jabs. Idk why people on here are assuming I’m anti vax?

A bit ridiculous that an article asking a legitimate question gets swamped with all this pro vaccine bs

This one the article, is too subtle to outright bin.

I would encourage everyone to get vaccinated.

I did see an article a couple of weeks ago showing a high percentage increase on professional athletes across all sports. I didn’t think much of it at the time so don’t remember what these collapses were being attributed to if anything. But as long as we don’t know the answer then we should be open to every feasible possibility.

Of course, but as Boris pointed out, there were high profile incidents of athletes collapsing well before the pandemic. Any studies would include vaccination as a recent variable, but I'd be wary of drawing any straight lines.

You know who recently confirmed her split from disgraced anti vaxxer Andrew Wakefield?

Elle "the body" McPherson.

Just can't fathom that one.
