How important is Arsenal?

I'm talking starting 11 quality

We could same the same about a striker, we have 4, do we need anymore, but as it stands we are nowhere near the side we are when Bamford starts.

There's a chance this game won't go ahead anyway, in fact we might end up with break. Which wouldn't hurt us, would it.

The challenge is Wetherby, Poveda was starting quality all last season, when we knew he wasn't. Costa I think would have been just as effective as James and we have Summerville, whom if deemed to be good enough for the bench then surely should be seen as good enough, unless, we're saying that despite Bielsa saying he has what he needs, that he hasn't got what he needs.

Completely agree about the break and really that's all karen Carney was saying about break last year wasn't she?

"People need to pipe down….."

Why do you feel the need to tell people to shut up?

On another thread you said something to the effect of this is my view, you won't change it, so don't even try.

Why come on discussion forums if you don't want to discuss and don't want people to speak.

It's bizarre.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

People need to pipe down …. Meaning taking things into context jonty, not literally shut up ffs. Sorry, didn’t think I needed to explain that given it’s an adult forum for discussion - goes without saying that people will and do have different views

We beat palace and people were saying we are heading for top 8…. Lose to city and we are almost certainly guaranteed relegation- pipe the fekk down = be real. Take things into balance. It’s not black or white - accept that there are a lot of grey areas too

It would be gutting, because we all love footy over the festive period, but I honestly think for the good of the game and the players there needs to be a break until we can get a grip on this variant.

Players not vaccinating will be a massive factor here, it should be a closed circle like last season IMO, to stop the spread and unvaccinated players left out.

Having Koch back is a big deal for Leeds. It means Ayling can go back to RB, or Dallas can go to RB, and Koch can play in CDM.

I'm seeing big disruption already in tennis and the speed of this spread is incredible.

Love them or hate them, lockdowns seem to be governments weapon of choice, so I'm preparing for my business to close....again....we just arranged a coaches conference for January with speaker flying in from Spain, so am gutted if we have to cancel that.

Lots of questions in sport re vaccines and I can completely understand if players are concerned for their health when taking a vaccine as they are testing their bodies to limits, sport has to work out what its going to do quickly. Australia is great example, strict rules re movement of people and sporting events.

Thought we’d get something v Chelsea nothing v City, expect us to win on Saturday and lose to Liverpool,

From a purely selfish point of view I personally hope that the season is stopped for a few weeks given the rise in covid cases and expected rise up to Christmas…. Would allow more time for us to get some players back.

Hope all works out Jonty, I'm sure once we xmas is out the way, we will go back to some kind of normality again

Injures have ruined us but fail to prepare, prepare to fail. We under recruited and risked an injury crisis. We knew KP gets injured every season and that he'd be playing for England till probably late into the tournament, yet we stood still and did nothing.

^^^^^

A section of fans might not like what Shaun said.
But he's right. Add to that, the Premier League table
is a cold-hearted barsteward. It doesn't care about
ifs, buts, injuries, suspensions, or covid, none of it.

Generally speaking 5 consecutive defeats in any league results in the manager losing their job and after Tuesday night this is definitely a possibility with Arsenal Liverpool and Villa hitting top form. I wouldn't be surprised if he walked tbh but let's hope it doesn't come to this and we can somehow summon up at least one victory out of those games.

Also reading a lot of the press reports all have said that Leeds look burnt out as a direct result of 4 seasons of Bielsaball.

Lee Chapman said after the Chelsea game when asked if the players would be too tired for Man City 72 hours later that absolutely not because they would be able to rest until a few hours before kick off and then they would just do a light warm up which seems logical and sensible but apparently according to quite a few sources on Facebook which I know isn't always gospel, the players were training as usual on the Monday.

If that is true and they were doing Bielsaball instead of resting then that would explain the players looking so knackered. Maybe someone on here could clear up whether this is fact or fiction.

I dont see Bielsa as walking unless one of 3 different situations occur:
1) He feels that management are no longer supporting him in what they promised
2) He feels that players are no longer doing what he wants
3) He believes it is in the best interests of the club

I personally do not want him to leave.

If Bielsa were to leave, I think we would be relegated without a doubt. If he stays he knows how to get the best out of this bunch. A couple of signings in Jan , no problem!!!

Spot on. This is a championship team. Punched above our weight last season and this season we are where you’d expect us to be given the injuries.. even with an almost fully fit squad we are still a 11-15th team…. Because of bielsa and bielsa only.

-----
The same journalists and pundits that have been saying we would burn out for 3 years now?

Rather than admit they are wrong, some of them are just desperate has just clung on to their original point of view and want us to go down so they can say they were right all along.

Can't believe people are really still talking about Bielsa burn out 4 years into this. If we go down (and that's a big if, when we are 5 points above the relegation zone and have lost 1 game in 9 to the teams in the bottom half of the team) then it won't be because of burn out, it will be injuries and recruitment.

Good news that Koch is back however, Bielsa usually never throws a player who has been out for a long time straight into the starting 11.
Maybe our situation is so desperate he will have to on this occasion

We put in great effort against Chelsea and played well, despite being down to the bones of our ass.
Man City were just too good for our depleted first team, because of the way we play we risked losing heavily, and we did
The good news is that in a few weeks we'll have key players back, plus a lot of talented young'uns champing at the bit.
Llorente is worrying me, it really looks like he's carrying a chronic back injury. Rodrigo I think has been hit by covid harder than he or anyone else is admitting, but I'm still happy to have him around. Experience at the highest level, flashes of class and what looks to me like a good attitude, not on an ego-trip
We are in a relegation scrap, but I think we'll stay up

I'm not feeling confident playing Leeds away, our away form has been poor this season, Arsenal also seem to struggle playing 17:30 on Saturdays especially away from home.

But that’s just superstition. Logically you should win this - but then Leeds defy logic!
