Several Japanese sources reporting that Celtic have reached an agreement with Yokohama F.M. to sign J League top scorer Daizen Maeda on an initial loan with the option to make the move permanent for £1.68M.

Who knows but she does seem a nasty piece of work - They're still insisting her boyfriend committed suicide in prison Anyone believing that is a clown.

Can't add to that.

Unusual for me.

Maeda appears to be on his way.

Hatate the one we’d like though. No further news there although some “news” that Ideguchi is “Celtic bound”.

Nope, me neither. Until Kyogo I’d never heard of any of them.

Julien reportedly near return to full training.

posted on 30/12/21

Delighted that big Julien is ready to play for us again. Hopefully the Bombscare Starfelt warms the bench from now on.

posted on 30/12/21

Hatate seems versatile which is good.

A little concerner about these loans with an option to buy tbh.

Jota -6
Ccv - 6
Maeda - 2

14 million spent in summer if we keep them. Before adding anything else.

This tells me we wont keep ccv or jota

posted on 30/12/21

Or rather both ccv and jota

The problem we have is that we have nobody to sell for any decent price aside from Kyogo and the fans would revolt.

We have sold all the gems. Calmac and Forrest are here for the duration, possibly Rogic & Bitton now too? Be lucky to get money back for Juranovic, Abada, Starfelt. Julian has to prove fitness and unlikely to turn a profit in any case? All the rest are pocket change by our standards.

We need to enter a speculation phase on players we can sell onto the EPL in 2 years and spend some of the vast player trading surplus we've run for 10 years. And to do that we also need them to show sustained form.

posted on 30/12/21

We will continue to do the minimum the board think is acceptable to keep the fan base attending and purchasing, and what they think will be just enough to win the league.

Sounds easy when you describe it like that. Ange’s bonus should be based on that.

It was not intended to sound easy because it is a challenge. No sensible manager would take a job based on that criteria. His next job is predicated on success and for that he needs his best players.

They blew 10 in a row with that thinking.

Missing out on John McGinn is unforgivable.

This title is the most important for years, Rangers get it and they are debt free with an eye on next seasons UCL and SPFL title. Celtic win it, and Rangers are well and truly fvcked for years.

Doesn't that enter into the Board's thinking..?

There's still two CL places. Yes it's not likely for a team to come through the best placed path but it's definitely not impossible

The CL money wouldn’t make Rangers debt free. They’re actually debt free as things stand right now as board members cover their running costs in exchange for shares and they have very few loans or debts for very obvious reasons. They are just a business who make significant annual losses so are uninvestible. If the win the CL money it will just be a year they likely will make a profit in. Depends on what they do with that profit after that.

With the sh1tshow Ange inherited, I'm surprised we're are where we are. Seven wins and one draw in the last eight games?

Seems like they are losing £2.5m a month. The CL money will just cover the losses between now and when they receive it. Maybe a wee bit extra for a vanity project of some sort.
