I assume that should the Shinnie transfer transpire it will be adjusted by the Barnett formula, thus closer to £14,000,000. A dark day if it happens. Mark my words. 🤬🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hearing rumours of Jason Knight being sold for 7million which will obviously be enough to save the club being kicked out mid season by the vindictive cowards at the EFL

I think that’s what it will take and unfortunately a price we will have to pay. I just hope that’s all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed, if it saves the club so be it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Expect him to go and thought he looked like he knew it, at the end of the game.
£7m would be an absolute bargain for some fortunate club, even if they sell him on in a couple of years.
Great lad and superb player, as I expect him to go on to prove

Apparently (Times, paywall thus partial article) he has said he wants to stay and fight for the cause so it won’t be his decision to go. But understandable.

TL implied the same thing at his post match interview with Ed D.

Can players refuse to move? Assuming they can afford not to (they can), and are prepared to put a shift in......

posted on 16/1/22

They can refuse, but it would be put to them that to stay means the club won't survive.

£14M for Shinnie? The administrators would snatch the hand off a buyer for a tenth of that.

I'm surprised Wigan have £30.0000

Probably what we paid them for Byrne

I’d be amazed if we get 7m for Knight. Perhaps in ordinary circumstances but this is not that.

Admin doesn’t have time for a bidding war either.

I think Lawrence will go first

It makes me want to weep. I can't express how I feel about it all.

Yes it’s such a shame as this team might actually perform the miracle if allowed to.

I can see a scenario where we get the cash to fund the club to complete the season but the spurious claims still prevent the EFL from sanctioning us to do so.

I think their are forces at play that want Derby out of the championship either by selling players and not being able to compete or by going out of business. Get past his hurdle and still threaten to stay up and they will put up another one. Perhaps we should start the lawsuits against Leicester, Wolves, Villa and QPR, just as justifiable as those against us. This is where we get to with the high stakes chase for money, and it will only get worse. The ESL is only on hold, it will happen sooner or later, professional football has no soul.

Had a reply from Rick Parry. He says that the EFL's arbitration process is independent and objective and is the appropriate legal forum to settle disputes.

Here is his final sentence:

"If the outcome (of arbitration) creates challenges then we can, indeed, change the rules."

Much as EFL may deny it, there is a justified perception that they, aided and abetted by Wycombe and Boro, want to hound us into extinction. It cannot be allowed to happen. This is where Derby and Derbyshire MPs can help.

I think our best hope currently is that the increased publicity will force the EFL into some sort of action to resolve the situation.
Inept institutions like them rarely do things because they are right, but because they are perceived as being popular

Is he a member of the Govt ?

The subtext being, it will allow and tacitly support anything against Derby County, but as soon as that has happened it will change the rules so that no other club can suffer the same fate.

Not the point Mr Parry. The very nature of the claims proves they are based on pure vindictiveness designed to push us towards extinction. The EFL is failing in its duty if it does not intervene.

posted on 16/1/22

The EFL has said publicly that the administrators "must" settle these claims in some way before it will sanction a takeover. The correct thing for the EFL to do would have been to say, publicly, that Middlesbrough and Wycombe are not creditors, that the administrators duty is to the creditors alone and therefore that they do not have to consider the claims of those clubs AT ALL.
