Huge blow for Sony, aww nuts !

Hopefully doesnt impact us too much.

Think it’s more about expanding their cloud gaming isn’t it, so if anything increases the possibility of a form of game pass being available on ps in the future.

yeah saw this about an hour ago, deal won't be confirmed till some point next year so won't be for a while. interesting acquisition though, cant imagine COD being an exclusive it sells too well but maybe us Xboxers get earl release/straight to game-pass etc etc

Haven't bought a COD game since the original Black Ops, so not overly bothered. I downloaded WWII when it became available on PS+ one month and it was absolute crap.

I feel like they continue to use the same formula for games since the original Modern Warfare, which was amazing, but was also two generations ago - 15 years!

As said above, though, the rumours that Sony are working on a GamesPass competitor are all but confirmed, so I'm sure MS will be happy to receive that revenue from PS gamers. That being said, a lot of us said the same when they bought Bethesda, and look how that worked out!!

Ultimately, I only really play PS exclusives, From Soft, and Rockstar games, so I'm safe for now; I feel for a lot of PS gamers who love a bit of COD and Elder Scrolls, though.

Oh, and Doom...I loved Doom

I think this is where I am atm

However since this was very cloak and dagger - I read a story the other day Microsoft was "re evaluating it's relationship with Blizzard amid the scandal", could we maybe see something in which Sony's answer to gamepass........is in fact just Gamepass? As it seems PS Now is going away, be that as an extra part of PS+, or into what ever streaming service they are attempting to create, as honestly I don't really see what a PS Gamepass competitor looks like......

There’s no way they are going to give up that amount of revenue, it’ll all stay on ps in some way. They’ve suggested for years that their strategy was to be platform agnostic.

As Rooney said - that's what we said after Bethesda, yet here we are and we've basically been told all the new games from now on will be MS exclusive, including the big ones that would have sold buckets on PS.

have we? ive seen vague things said but nothing clear, sounded like they will release some games on other platforms, not missed any big games yet

posted on 18/1/22

I think they confirmed that the new, hugely-invested-into IP will be exclusive. Starfield or something

posted on 18/1/22

ah yeah, so a new property, as expected

posted on 18/1/22

Oh, and apparently Elder Scrolls VI will be exclusive, which I think is the biggest IP Bethesda have.

So, yeah, not very promising

posted on 18/1/22

ill probably play it a year or 2 after release on pc when its all fixed

I should be clear, when I say exclusive, I mean console exclusive; you’ll still be fine on your previous PC, Taki

You’d think the numbers for Elder Scrolls are astronomical - particularly since they remade Skyrim A THOUSAND TIMES - so precedent would suggest they aren’t bothered about multi-platform revenues

I cannot wait for a new TES game

Xbox tweeted an image earlier of game pass titles for 2022 and beyond and showed a TES 6 thumbnail

I absolutely adored Oblivion and probably put 150 hours or something daft into it, but I never felt the same about Skyrim. I think I just did the main storyline and then never picked it back up, which is really unlike me.

Because Skyrim didn't grip me, I'm not overly bothered about TES VI, but on paper it is like my perfect game, or would be if they could combine great combat mechanics. That's why I'm incredibly hopeful for Elden Ring, as it should be that sort of medieval / fantasy RPG setting with sophisticated combat.

Another game in that sphere that I felt was underrated was Middle-Earth: Shadow of War. Apparently it got slated at first because of a lot of microtransactions but, by the time I picked it up, they'd pretty much all been removed, so I had a great time

Right, which I think is the precursor to them striking a deal with Sony around gamepass.

Skyrim on the 360 I must have been North of 200 hours
On the ps4 less so I could just never be bothered and don't get me started on psvr

LOTR shadow of mordor I got when it first came out I like the assassins creed feel of the mechanics but like AC it got very samey very quickly

I do feel like giving Skyrim another go sometimes, but games are coming thick and fast from next month: Horizon, Elden Ring, GT7

Yeah I don't have time to commit really to too big a game so anything that I know will take a hundred hours is just too daunting
