We sell them an option to buy for £1 in 18 months and they pay £999,999 to buy the option now. That way, he's still our player until they pay the extra £1 on 31/5/24 and no transfer will happen either way until then
Although, of course we'd have to pay VAT on the £999,999!
Power just restored in Lewis, for now. This isn't the usual post match round up. Strangely subdued, What have I missed?
Emotional day. All still in a state of shock đĽ
Possibly we are all emotionally spent. I've just got home. It felt like a very long day. Shropshire was all cloud this morning but we headed east into clear blue sky which I took as a good omen. The march was moving and spectacular. It was hard to gauge the numbers when we arrived at the Assembly Rooms but when we reached the Wyvern bridge and saw ahead of us hordes of fans filing the road into the distance, seemingly to the horizon, it was an incredibly moving site.
The ground filled early as those who were on the march were there an hour before kick-off, and the atmosphere was terrific pre-match. But we were poor in the first half, quite similar to the Forest performance, nervous at the back and sloppy in midfield. Plange was the only bright spot with his intelligent movement and hold-up play.
We started the second half as though a bollocking had been delivered but then conceded a weak second. I did say to my lads that I felt there was still a chance though. Bielik instantly looked like a thoroughbred in a donkey sanctuary. Apart from his own presence and abilty, he seems to make others play better around him.
Plange's goal was a great effort and the equaliser, with the last throw of the dice, raised the roof. My younger lad was just shouting his head off, myself and my older lad were in tears of joy. It would not have been right to lose today, not after this week, not after the march with old and young alike all showing what this club means to us. It's very hard not to draw comparisons to the off the field situation. We seem beaten but refuse to lie down. Stick together, fight together, and believe that salvation will come, even as the coffin lid is closing. Surely we will survive all of this and see better days.
I was drained emotionally and that was just from watching on TV!
I was a bit worried about the march as these occasions are so often highjacked by extremists with political agendas nothing to do with the purpose but I need not have been concerned. Brilliant!

It was a fantastic ending to what had been in the main a poor Derby performance.

Well said Vidal. I walked into town from the train station with a large group of vociferous brummie lads who were going on the march to demonstrate their support for our cause. The eruption following Bielik’s scissor kick was the stuff of dreams! Nursing the most beautiful hangover I’ve ever had in my life…
Mornin’ y’all
Anybody have a definitive number for the marchers yesterday?
I was counting them individually at the Cockpit but lost count at 6,137 when distracted by a TV camera
Morning after view :
Well IMO this was very similar to the Forest game, in that although we were never quite in it.....we were never quite out of it either....as our late rally proved.
Conceding that early goal seemed to throw us off balance and we never really got back into it until the later stages of the game. That said, like the Forest game, Brum made more of their chances than we made of ours....and yes we could have easily been 3 - 0 at one point.
We seemed sloppy all over the pitch for much of the game....but as usual as Brum discovered to their cost - you can never write us off.
1. Goalie - Allsop. Didn't think there was much he coud do about either goal and as ever generally did well.
2. Defence - Byrne, Stears, Curtis & Fozzie. Generally ok....but never totally comfortable. Fozzie at times gave the ball away too much.
3. Midfield. Knight, Tommo, Bird. Looked a bit lightweight and like Forest game weren't totally in it. I think we miss Shinnie and it's a real loss that he's gone. That said it gives someone else the chance to step up into his shoes. Thought Knight was the pick of the 3.
4. Forwards - Loz, Ploz and Joz. Loz I thought 'nibbled around the edges of the game', Ploz....the best game he has played for us and looks to have the makings of a good player. Joz - an enigma. Has so much skill but to me seems really low on confidence and despite all the chances he's been given has never really done anything.
5. Subs - CKR, Festy, Krystian. CKR, like Loz nibbled around the edges of the game, did ok and yes could have scored. Festy I thought did quite well and did make a difference when he came on. Still much to learn though. Krystian - really surprised to see him on the bench - let alone come on the pitch. his presence swung the game for us. I hope his injury isn't bad as he deserves a break after the last 2 years he's had.
So all in all an enjoyable game. Not the result I wanted (obvs) but I'll take a point. We need to get back into form though and need to keep our points return improving......UTR
I don’t think there will be a definitive number as such but I saw police estimates of 10,000.
I’m sure there are decent Brum fans. The not so decent ones were audible during the game and it’s tempting to tar them all with the same brush. There is always going to be an element who take delight in others’ misfortunes and no doubt we would have our share were the situations reversed. We need to do all we can to get other fans on board about the problems that are at the root of the game, and not specific to Derby or its former owner. I like to think most folk are decent but maybe I am naive. I wasn’t thinking it yesterday when Brum fans were singing their hilarious song.

Well that was my first game for about 6 years! Decent start (5 mins) & a great finish!
We afe missing a "ratter" in midfield. Not until Belik came on & pushed us up the pitch did we look like getting in their box nevermind scoring.
Up the Rams đđđđ

Change of personnel worked for both sides. We improved when Joz, Forsyth and Thompson were taken off. Birmingham lost control of midfield when Bacuna and Woods went off.
Why does Joz keep getting in the starting 11? His contribution is negligible? Is he still suffering from the trauma of scoring the winning goal against the dogs only for it to be ruled out?
I saw a couple of wide players in our under 18s who at least have enough pace and strength to take on a defender. Would rather have them than someone who just appears there to make up the numbers.
I actually thought Jozwiak had turned a small corner recently with improved performances but yesterday he had a very poor day. Not so much for the (fair) challenge that injured him but for the other times he went down. He has always had a habit of flinging himself to the floor when he could stay up, and then staying down for a couple of minutes when the foul isn't given which leaves us a man short. Jason Knight also isn't averse to playing for fouls, too much in my opinion, but he has got better in that regard this season and at least if a foul isn't given he gets up and gets on with it.

Yes I agree Vidal. If there's one player we could do with moving on its Joz. A skilful player... but he's never settled here nor got to grips with the Championship. Like you I thought he'd turned a corner... but no....
Festy is a better option or we could even try Ebeioei from the under 18s who was on the bench yesterday...
Yes, I'm with you Vidal and Terry in being really disappointed in Joz even allowing for excuses like youth, foreign country etc. I was quite excited when he signed as I felt we urgently needed a pacey, winger-type player but in spite of his obvious talent he just has not delivered.
