Anyone who gets disciplined blames the person who disciplines them. Auba was woefully out of form, under-performing, and acting up off the pitch. Of course a manager is going to have a problem with that.
Hence "perception". It could be perceived that a manager who gets rid of highly talented players in Ozil and Auba may be the issue, not the players who left...
Or the player, who has had issues under other managers and at other clubs, is the problem
Even Dortmund's director said Aubas behaviour was too bad to ignore.
I'm sure many arsenal fans will assume it's a coincidence though.
Auba said that Arteta is the reason for him leaving Arsenal. No one knows what was going on behind the doors.
It's obvious that Arteta has the backing of the Kroenke's.

Very obvious yes.
And I do firmly sit in the "we don't know" space which is why I'm positioning this around perception. On the basis of the little we do know - he was late for training, he was late back from a trip related to his mum - hearing he lost the captaincy and was frozen out to the point that the club cancelled his contract rather than try to reconcile with him or sell him, I'd be like "damn"...
Added to that, as mentioned, the way others have been frozen out paint a certain picture, wrong as that may be. Much like the picture painted that because Auba had issues previously, HE must be the issue this time.
But since Arteta is the manager and has a recent track record and hasn't much to show for his management, it may affect him more. Auba's already moved on and is playing at a pretty decent club.
The problem now is there is pattern emerging with this manager. Aubameyang is just the tip of the iceberg. Guendouzi, Maitland-Niles, Saliba and Ozil. You could argue there is possibly a clash of personalities but it's becoming clear there is a problem with his man management or lack of. In a perfect world every player is the model professional but everyone is different and it's his job to ensure he gets the best out of every player he has and he clearly hasn't done that with the players mentioned above.

Or, Arteta took over a club with a lot of rotten apples and he is working to address the situation.
Wenger was always accused of being too soft, Emery had players openly rip the piiiiss out of him, showing no respect. All the time the team was dropping down the league.

Is it? Then why are there transfers? His job is to develop a squad, and that includes getting rid of players who don't fit for whatever reason.

You could argue that but at the same time Guendouzi has gone away done relatively well with Marseille, Saliba has been doing decently for two years and the manager wont even give him a look in for some reason. Maitland-Niles put in a couple of man of the match performances then he's never seen again. I think there is problem there just my opinion though.
Seems to be that Arteta is bombing out the trouble markets and unprofessional.
Do Arsenal no harm whatsoever moving forward imo.

Exactly. Under Wenger player power was evident, players forcing moves all the time. Emery was openly mocked by the players and his second season showed he lost the squad.
The newer signings (Ramsdale, Tierney, Tomiyasu, White etc) seem more team orientated. The academy players obviously have a deeper connection with the club than signings. Creating a team ethic is not a bad thing, and to do that you have to get rid of the ones putting obstacles in the way.
Arteta set rules and standards, Auba didn't meet those.
Seems like we tried to be flexible and understanding when issues came up, but Auba then took advantage of this and action had to be taken because otherwise others in the squad could let their standards fall and then just cite the example of the captain in their defence.
Not sure Arteta did much wrong here.
Arteta man management is bad because results are still bad. One thing to kick rotten eggs out, but if on pitch performances are still woeful, makes little difference. He needs to perhaps find a different way.

Yep, it's about creating a culture and one of professionalism.
This Arsenal squad seems far more humble, down to earth and playing for the badge than the one that had Auba. Ozil, Bellerin, Luiz and Guendouzi.
