A long long time ago I remembered Bobby Charlton talking after a game at WHL. He said Jimmy Greaves had only had two touches, he scored two goals.
He’s deffo fallen out with his teammates. For his sake and the sake of Chelsea it’s best he leaves at the end of the season.
I remember back in August a lot of pundits saying he was going to fire Chelsea to the title.

A bit of a journeyman and a flat track bully.
We know what Lukaku offers and he won't ever be a world class striker
In fairness to Lukaku they’re not setting up to get the best out of him. He’s not a target man and they play him like one. He’s better running onto through balls rather than being alone up top and waiting for service.
This says it better than I

He did great at Inter because he had a manager that knew how to get the best out of him. I really don’t think Tuchel wanted him nor knew how to get him firing. Whether you think he’s world class or not, he’s certainly better than what we’re seeing at Chelsea

You're in a minority of one at this stage. His mentality, coupled with his sheer inability to score in big games in big moments is why he's failing at Chelsea. Just like he did at United, when the going got tough

The guy is an elite striker and his goal record in the PL, serie A and internationally says so. It’s not working for him at Chelsea and that’s partly his fault but you should also acknowledge that the match with Tuchel isn’t as good as it would be with other managers. He’s not the first very good player to struggle at a certain club. And certainly not the first big name striker to struggle at Chelsea

He is not elite. Nowhere near it. His scoring record is less than one in two in his club career. That's not elite. Maybe it's his all round play that adds that extra something. His first touch, hold up play and awareness of those around him. Maybe not.
Lukaku performs badly because he doesn't have the managers love?
Heard it all now.
He is an enigma, his goalscoring record is decent, but watching him play he looks like the Maguire of strikers.
His goals tally in the PL is just behind Robin Van Persie's. They can't all have been in ideal conditions against poor teams.
He's definitely got something going for him. If you play to his strengths he's very good. But all strikers want service.

Van Persie didn't play as a centre forward for the majority of his career. Lukaku's record drops to much closer to one in three if you take out Serie A. He's not completely awful but he's not even close to top class imo. Nor will he ever be remembered as such

Where do you realistically think he can/should go to show the world he's as good as you think?
Not a chance he gets into City or Liverpool's side.

Van Persie wasn't a striker for most of his PL career. Compare Lukaku's record to the best strikers throughout their careers. Do it at their peak. And look at their big game records.
But tbf there's only Robb saying he's elite. You're just looking for something to back that up. Flawed as the stat may be

You're in a minority of one at this stage. His mentality, coupled with his sheer inability to score in big games in big moments is why he's failing at Chelsea. Just like he did at United, when the going got tough
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t think you can single out Lukaku for his second season with us when the whole side were falling apart under Jose. He even scored twice in our biggest game of the season. The guy needs a managers love and never got it with Ole and certainly doesn’t have it with Tuchel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can single him out because you keep trying to make him out to be the elite striker he doesn't have the mentality to even wish to be himself!
The guy does need a manager's love. He also needs absolutely ideal conditions to perform. That is a massive negative against him, not a defence of his abilities. You just can't see that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The guy is an elite striker and his goal record in the PL, serie A and internationally says so. It’s not working for him at Chelsea and that’s partly his fault but you should also acknowledge that the match with Tuchel isn’t as good as it would be with other managers. He’s not the first very good player to struggle at a certain club. And certainly not the first big name striker to struggle at Chelsea

In fairness to Lukaku they’re not setting up to get the best out of him. He’s not a target man and they play him like one. He’s better running onto through balls rather than being alone up top and waiting for service.
This says it better than I

There is no "in fairness to Lukaku" ffs. He's not a top level striker. He's great if you want a stat padder under little pressure.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He did great at Inter because he had a manager that knew how to get the best out of him. I really don’t think Tuchel wanted him nor knew how to get him firing. Whether you think he’s world class or not, he’s certainly better than what we’re seeing at Chelsea
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He did great at Inter because it's a rubbish league, as I said at the time Chelsea signed him. Zlatan and Giroud are banging the goals in in that league. He's just not that good.

Rob
Where do you realistically think he can/should go to show the world he's as good as you think?
Not a chance he gets into City or Liverpool's side.

Van Persie wasn't a striker for most of his PL career. Compare Lukaku's record to the best strikers throughout their careers. Do it at their peak. And look at their big game records.
But tbf there's only Robb saying he's elite. You're just looking for something to back that up. Flawed as the stat may be

I don't want him back at United though. Just because he doesn't fit by image of a United player
