yeah your generation got extremely lucky with the whole retirement thing, ours, not so much.
-----------------------
The older generation all started work at fithteen and put in their fivty years, today many youngsters start employment in their twenties, full of education but lacking common sense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah your generation also got a much better quality of life, so ya know swings and roundabouts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spoken like someone with few short years of knowledge and experience in comparison and a "modern" take on reality.
In other words, utter piiissh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah cheap housing, cheap food, cheap everything.

Won't speak for the rest but as someone trying to buy his first house, the housing is definitely true.
Even your basic starter homes are a good 5/6x the average wage in most places at the moment, and many are nowhere near the quality or size of the past.

Milkmen we’re paid far more than I was when I first started working and let’s just say I can keep the wolf from the door.
60 this year...been semi retired ten years (work part time) - can't be doing with politics, or much of anything i can't change.
My day basically revolves round whether I can go out and play golf or bowls (or both), watching Chelsea, laughing at Spurs, and seeing my Grandsons grow up...life's too short

But two things do differ, your body, it's inescapable that as you age things don't work as well. But the compensation is, that you are not going to work.
-------------------
yeah your generation got extremely lucky with the whole retirement thing, ours, not so much.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i didnt realise sponging off your parents and spending 24 hours a day in their basement would make a huge difference to you when it comes to retirement
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You were a milk man mate, youll be working when you're dead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yep.. i was a milkman for all of 6 months... made a huge difference to my life... only got me a 15k a year pay rise
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Were you on 3k a year previously?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
its what happens when youre good at what you do but get bored... people come looking for you and offer you a fortune to join them... not that you'd ever know
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fortune
mate people who earn big money dont work as milkmen, ever.
stop them lies.

What did old people use to use before the internet?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In the day time they read the Encyclopædia Britannica. In the night time they got pist, started fights and screwed anybody willing with a pulse.
Stretty are you claiming to be of the young generation. Thats about as daft as assuming that everybody who lived pre internet is an old codger.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm in my early 30's, so yeah in comparison to really old people here I am on the young generation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Millennial. Explains a lot of the whinging.

So can we out an end to the nonsense that means you can be insulted because you are old, or what your beliefs are because of your age, and just debate on level terms;

no..... you are not part of the young generation in your 30s. despite how old other people may be. Yes you are part of a younger gereration than them but very much of an older generation than the young generation.
