Yes its in the published accounts that are out to day, £18m profit for the pandemic season, but a nett loss on player trading.
No doubt some conspiracy theorists will insist that Fosun are writing off the debt to make us more attractive to potential buyers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
that last bit was my initial thought process too
Cash in £60.8m (Jota, Doherty, Costa, Tsun Dai (?))
Cash out £71.5m (Silva, Semedo, Hoever, Marcal & Gomes)
I guess these are on the books now but the cash is still not in Wolves accounts given that we've seen loans taken out in lieu of staged payments on these deals. Weird that we have cash in other clubs bank accounts (gaining interest that presumably we wont see) and we have to take out loans against those values to make the cash available which we have to pay interest on. Feels like a double whammy that but the detail may not be so onerous.
Does kind of underline what the club have been saying when it comes to transfer dealings, the profits on the sales of Jota, Doherty and Costa have been re-invested in the squad. And without the kind of commercial income enjoyed by the bigger clubs, the only way to invest without accumulating losses is debt. At least thanks to benevolent uncle Guo, we're now free of Fosun debt at least, we know there are those other loans that have been taken out in lieu of future transfer payments.
Its encouraging that the club has made a profit in a year when most games were played behind closed doors. But that just goes to reiterate that TV money is by far the biggest factor for income. And all games were televised. Although the club is working to improve its commercial income from sponsorship etc. And of course by transfers, but Wolves spent more than they got in.
Large sums of money owed by clubs for transfers. But that works both ways because we still owe for some signings. Rare for transfers to be paid at the time of the deal.
Interesting that the book value of our playing staff is £163m. There was a write off in value of £62m in the year. Guess the main factors in that are Fabio being worth less than £35m and Moutinho and Saiss coming to the end of their contracts. And Traore's value went down. Raul's injury would have affected his value. Same for Jonny probably and maybe Neto.
The overall profit would have helped our measures against FFP ans the club does seem in decent financial health.
Just goes to prove what a waste of money Silva was.
What could we have had for that money.
I think it's fair to say that we were all shocked at the price tag given to such a young player with relatively no experience of first team football. But, we have him and the only way he's going to improve, is by giving him game time. If he cannot secure at least a few starting roles, then he either goes into the U23's or out on loan, although I don't see the latter happening.

Personally have no doubt they will sell on over the next few years if they can
Just looking at the Grasshoppers team tonight as they play at home to 4th placed Lugano.
They are playing 343 with Jordao and Hawabe as the central midfield two with Bolla as the right wing back. Up front Bonatini is one of the two strikers with Christian Herc as the number 10. Former Wolves defender Georg Magreitter is centre back and captain. Sang-Bin on the bench. At least they’re getting games
Scans on Semedo have evidently confirmed the hamstring injury that was feared. He is likely to be out for 6 to 8 weeks which takes us close to the end of the season. He will be missed for sure, particularly based on the West Ham game, if Hoever is seen as the logical replacement. Wonder how soon they feel they could risk Jonny
I would go with Jonny immediately. If Jonny isn't ready then when will he be? He came on the other week. Even if he gets 60 minutes it benefits us in the longer term this season.
Grasshoppers lost 1-2 and all 5 of the loan players we subbed off.
Wait, the genius Grasshopper feeder club isn't all that?
I got a warning on Facebook for a abusive language 😂😂
What did you say?
I avoid any confrontation on there, though the last couple of years it has been difficult.
This match against Palace looks like a good opportunity to get back on the winning thread. But Palace have played 10 games since Jan 1st and the only teams to beat them are Liverpool and Chelsea

A debate on one of the wolves fan sites and the sudden clamour for Cundle to start
All I said was he was a feckin delusional person if he thinks Cundle makes our strongest xi if moutinho is back based on one decent appearance vs sours
I had a listen to Dazzling Dave's (he's far from Dazzling bless him) you tube interview with Tim Spiers tonight, some interesting snippets which are hopefully informed rather than speculative observations:
All parties, player, clubs, agent, want the Traore move to become permanent.
Saiss was offered a new contract last summer but he turned it down. Club would like to keep him but he will be open to options in the summer.
Lage and his coaches work incredibly hard on the tactical side of the game, but he's smart enough to know when it's not working and is far more flexible than Nuno.
This bit sounded more speculative but he felt with a combination of decent financial results, some fringe players moving on for fees plus a big sale, maybe 2, there will be the start at least of an overhaul in the next window. Traore obviously plus one of possibly Kilman, Neto or Neves if the right offer came in and all parties were happy.
Neves won't run out his contract, will want to either stay at the club because he loves it there or if progress over the next couple of years doesn't transpire he'll want to see the club right with a decent fee.
He also repeated his story about the shocking state of the Steve Bull stand , victorian brickwork and that its stinking. Which is a bit of sensationalist testicles in my view.

Yeah, I have tried to be diplomatic on MolMix(though I am generally on the wind up over there) about Cundle. He did alright, nothing more, but you would believe he is the messiah or something. The fact that since then, Bruno hasn't gone near him, tells a story.

Yeah I think so
I apologise if any of you are Benjamin Jones but fack me you talk shiete
Whatever people think of Dave as a player I do think he's brighter than your average footballer and does have measured comments to make.
What I have picked up as one of the main differences between Nuno and Lage is that Nuno was very firm with his views on how we would play and would tell the players how he wanted it to be. Bruno consults with the players much more and makes sure everyone is on board with decisions on the approach before putting things in place. Much better communicator.
Do think its clear that Saiss would have signed a contract by now if that was his intention. Hope the door isn't closed on that but it seems his future plans lie elsewhere with a nice signing on fee that goes with a free transfer.
Don't know about Dave's view on the Steve Bull stand stinking, but to say it is overdue at least a refurb is a massive understatement. The fundamental problems of access and inadequate facilities and concourse will probably only be solved by a rebuild.
hopefully when it's done they can come a little closer to the pitch
