Chelsea can breathe more easily now
If his assets had been frozen it would have left them in limbo
He has said he will not be asking for the £1.5 billion he lent the club and there will no quick sale and all due diligence will be carried out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He is still a Russian crook, Hounslows, and he is obviously trying to make a quick backdoor exit, before he gets investigated again, about where his money cond from that he has pumped into Chelsea. This sounds extremely dodgy to me.

Just read up on some of the stories on him. He's fit to play the part of a Bond Villain.

So the questions is, how many other club owners have offered donations to victims of the Ukraine war?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's really not the question at all. The real question is why he's doing this. Is it genuine altruism or a PR move in a desperate attempt to not lose all of his assets in the UK? Colour me skeptical of a billionaire made by Putin, but I'm going with the second option.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Perfectly reasonable to go with that option. I can't be certain, but i do think proceeds to the victims is a message to Putin. I can't see what else it can be tbh.

It’s just interesting how things are spun really. Not getting Chelsea to repay the 1.5bn is the headline doing the rounds and people clapping it. Well of course he isn’t lol they don’t have 1.5bn lying around to repay him do they? So as a creditor if he called that in and the club can’t repay the club goes in to administration, then he gets a fraction of what it’s worth. So hes just increased the sales price to include what’s owned to him. But people who don’t understand and just see the ‘writing off 1.5bn’ clapping and applauding it like he’s a modern day Robin Hood lol
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is a fair point, but hold judgement until the sale is actually made and the terms and cocnditions clear.
If it is an unconditional sale then i would say fair play to Roman.
However, if he maintains some kind of debt repayment covenant on the club then i would agree with your view that this is just a cynical business decision
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What judgement.
Here are his options... demands the club pay him back, and effectively put the club into 1.5 billion of debt... therefore only be able to sell the club for 500 mill because it comes with huge debt.
Or sell the club for 2 billion as it has no debt, and make himself out to be a hero.
Either way, he gets the same return, one just looks a lot better.
