Rudiger is a good defender but that's it. He can't pass a ball like virgil
I genuinely think, prime vs prime, Sol Campbell was better than VVD.
Sol was just as quick and good in the tackle, but even stronger and more of a goal threat.
Virgil Van Dijk is excellent at everything required from a CB......
I've never seen anybody play CB at a higher level for a significant period of time.
All the others mentioned were error prone and have holes in their game in comparison to Van Dijk

I did, how was VVD exposed? Teams had a few chances they didn't take, literally didn't concede, pretty desperate to suggests CB has been exposed when in the last 3 games he's played the opposition didn't score once, nor was he at fault for any of the chances they had, teams will create chances mate, a few times the offside trap was broken = VVD exposed, come on lad.

Poor finishing cost you some chances but didn't cost you the game. Liverpool could have been out of sight in first half. Should have scored within 0inutes and then you could have been thrashed.

Terry and Cravalho played in arguably the most defensive side in Prem history. They had full backs and defensive mids like Makelele to cover.
VVD plays in a team with technically no full backs and only usually one midfielder in front and still manages to shine. If Terry Carvalho were put into our team they'd look like clones of Maguire

15 goals conceded 2004/05 season. Every prem team has shipped more than that already.
I'm sure you'll come up with a better pairing though and they probably played for Liverpool!
Goals are conceded by a team, not just the CBs. CBs can have little defensive duties in a park the bus team. Chelsea had Malouda and Duff, Liverpool have Mane and Salah. It doesn't take a genius.
