Because the club is still operational.

Megastore ain't. The geezer who sells burgers is gonna lose half his profits. Middlesboro is getting facked for 5000 paying punters etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It sucks, but women and children are being murdered and cities are being levelled.

Everyone that has an investment in a thriving football club existing in the area?

------------------------------------------------------------------

We can quibble about the 'everyone' and we'll see in time how extensive the impacts will be and how long they last.

But you have not answered my main point. Does the short-term income of the megastore employee (assuming they are indeed laid off) matter more than the child killed by shelling?

Perhaps you don't want to answer that question. Perhaps you'll argue that sanctioning Abramovich won't stop the shelling. The thing is, no individual action is going to stop Putin's mass-murderous campaign. Most of us don't want to declare war on a belligerent state with nuclear warheads and an increasingly radicalised outlook. So the only leverage we really have is to hurt the regime economically, both through direct sanctions and by putting pressure on Putin's associates and proxies with individual sanctions. And I'm sure that just about every oligarch stationed in London is providing employment for a bunch of people in service industries. So I'm afraid we don't get to side-step this choice. Do the slain women and children in Ukraine, the elderly people who aren't mobile enough to get down to the shelter during shelling, matter less?

That is all on 'our' owner. Unless you think the fact that Middlesboro cant sell FA Cup tickets is some sort of worthy punishment.

No. I think not allowing Chelsea to have away fans , sell tickets/merchandise hurts a lot of people that have no connection to Putins regime.

I couldn't read the rest of your typically verbose response because it was too obvious

----------------------------------------------------------------------

You're dodging acknowledging the fact that your stance amounts to "let them all die" by pretending it was too much too read one paragraph. And simultaneously trying to seize the moral high ground.

I’m saying this situation is because of your owner.

Im saying its because of the governments over reaching sanctions. Sanction the fack out of Roman! Dont cut babies heads off! We all agree on this. But don't fack over a publican in Middlesboro over because you want to make a statement.

Given the assets have been frozen, and so are no longer able to trade, it’s just an unfortunate byproduct of this situation. But it is still Abramovich that is responsible for these people losing out.

Most chelsea fans on this board have condemned any wrong doing from abramovich.

Fair enough. I have no idea of the legal side i.e let Chelsea continue to operate normally
and profits get frozen? Seems like a restriction of trade within this country?

What do I know, i'm just a Chelsea fan on a silly forum.

Still have internet access in my basement so not sure what your point is 🤷‍♂️

Incidentally, quite by chance I'm going to Norwich vs Chelsea tonight. A Norwich supporting mate had a spare ticket.

That's what your argument boils down to. Don't act against Abramovich because of the potential job losses
