Before the game we were 5 points behind Reading.
We're now 6 points behind.
So, exactly the same situation - 2 wins behind

Is Jack Stretton back from injury? If we're to lose CKR we need a back up option at CF.

Don’t you invariably feel disappointed when you meet your idols?
It was a noble fight but the sanctions imposed on us by the EFL did for in the end. Now our only problem is survival. The £5 the 3 amigos paid for the club would probably look a bit extravagant now.

He played approx 60 mins for the u23s on Sunday.
It was great to meet Scouse.
I feel greatly dispirited after that match. It seems the game is up. We simply do not have enough of the raw materials required to survive. I didn’t really understand the selection but maybe it would have made no difference. Cashin was excellent again as was Byrne. Bird had a very good first half but I don’t think Knight or Thompson really knew what their roles were. Lawrence was anonymous. We got into some very good attacking positions but we don’t seem to have players who can make the right decisions at such times. I just think it comes down to a simple lack of quality. It was a long walk back to the car and a long drive home. Ah well. A fight has been put up and we can be thankful for that.
Morning after view:
As Vidal succinctly put it....I feel dispirited too as we slip inexorably towards that trap door of L1. No, I'm not giving up, but last nights game showed why we are where we are.
I'm not criticising the Players nor the Management one jot because they, like us have given everything. But we've all been done over by Mel Morris, the EFL and Quantuma who seem inept at the handling of the take over.
We lack a physicality in the team. It's men against our boys - so aptly illustrated last night. You could have written the script last night. For me I'd have gone with a back 5 last night which included Stearman because it was abvious that they'd bring on the Big Guys in the 2nd half and we simply couldnt cope.
In the final third we seem to either make the wrong pass, the wrong decision or try to do things perfectly. We lose momentum far too often by trying to over cook promising positions. Honestly I'm not criticising the players. Just saying it as I see it. We've battled valiantly against the odds....but again last night we slipped to defeat last night against a poor, yet physically strong Blackburn Rovers.
1. Goalie. Allsop. Like the guy. Dont think he couldve done anything about the goals conceded.
2. Defence. Byrne, Curtis, Cash & Buchanan. Good 1st half but couldnt cope 2nd. I thought Curtis looked a bit tired. He is 37 though. Still my Player of the Season.
3. Midfield. Bird, JK38, Tommo. Thought Bird did ok, Knight 1st half ok with Tommo looking to me like he's lost a bit of confidence. All faded 2nd half.
4. Attack. Ravel, Lawrence & Ebiowei. Morrison the pick of the 3. Ebiowei had some good moments but still learning his trade. Sorry Tom, but I'd hoped that after you came back from your suspension you'd add to our strike force....but sadly again last night you didnt.
5. Subs. CKR, Festy & Plange. Sadly maybe the last time we see CKR if his injury is as serious as it looked. A real character. Plange and Festy not much impact.
So all in all a sad night. That said, what, 8 games to go and 24 points to play for. Still do-able ... but looking unlikely. We go again on Saturday. UTR

Never say never but last night we finally looked like a relegation team. We moved the ball around really well at times but then.... it fizzles out. Apart from Davies we have no real leaders or a player who can take charge of the game. When Bielik returned I had genuine hope he could be the driving force but that was too much to expect after such a long lay-off. We have nobody with any real presence. We are too easily snuffed out in attacking areas. We have over-achieved all season but we are like a marathon runner who has given his all and has nothing left with a couple of miles still to go.
If as looks likely we drop down at least one division, we'll definitely need at least one or two "bruisers", otherwise we'll get mullered.
£2.5 million is what we still owe Lech Poznan for Jozwiak.
Morris doesn't appear to have done a straight thing in his life.

Well, it's clear from all the comments on here that we are all down and very disappointed. Also, that we are not going to give up yet, nor are we going to criticise any team or staff member in a negative way.
I would just like to make a few comments on what I believe is needed now:
1. Our captain to step up to the plate and make up for that three-game suspension. (He failed to do so last night both from a performance and captaincy viewpoint.)
2. WR to give up on the idea of a "false nine" and play at least one recognised striker; also bring Stretton back into the fold, if fit.
3. WR to play Stearman somewhere in defence. We cannot keep ignoring his vast experience. (I am not blaming Cashin who has been brilliant but I just feel that crunch time is upon us and experience could be key. Maybe play three at the back including Cashin.) We have to stop giving goals away.
4. Also to play Ebosele if at all possible, but forward and ON THE RIGHT! Ebiowei is going to be some player and needs to be on the bench for sure but defences are terrified of Festy and we should make use of that.
5. To be prepared to ditch playing out from the back if the oppo keep pressing Allsop and co, esp if they have big guys up there.
6. To be prepared to bolster midfield when necessary as, eg, we were overrun there by the Muffins.
In short, we need to be brilliant in defence, midfield and attack!!! (And now you can see why I'm not a football manager.)
