dunno, but one thing I do know is that Conte is currently overseeing an extended run of joke form, and has to take some responsibility for that. what kind of manager / team has such as ridiculous elongated run of form that we have had in 2022?
If it was a less big name manager the convo would be more like, will this guy get sacked before next season, rather than will he walk away.
I mean what is it WLWLWLLWLWLWLWL ? wtf is that? i doubt any other professional team in world football has had such up and down form in 2022. we are either good, or we are rubbish. decide which one and get some consistency ffs.
I've been a bit underwhelmed. I thought he could do a Tuchel. Chelsea were in a similar state when he took over and he pretty much immediately turned them around.
I thought he'd at least make us harder to beat and stop the embarrassing cup exits. And it looked like he was turning us around until those horrendous Saints and Wolves games.
I've no doubt he's a top manager and we've seen ever Pep and Klopp had inconsistent first seasons, but the difference is they are long term manager's. If Conte stayed for 5 years I'm sure he'd build a top team, but we know he won't so we're in a state of purgatory...
I thought he'd at least make us harder to beat and stop the embarrassing cup exits. And it looked like he was turning us around until those horrendous Saints and Wolves games.

well the Morecambe game and the absolute bending over to chelsea yet again were alarm bells ringing before those games
I like Conte and the last thing I want is the upheaval of him leaving and a replacement having to be found.
However some of his team selections and the knee jerk comments he makes have disappointed me and every time Winks starts I feel like crying.
This seasons a bit of a free hit as he inherited a dull and tainted group of players but next season I won't be so forgiving. That's of course if he hasn't walked.

The big difference between us and Chelsea is they have wing backs who can create, defenders that can defend and around 5 or 6 solid midfielders.
Conte walked in with players like Doherty, Dier, Emerson, Sanchez, Davies, Sicknote Sess, flappy Hugo and only 2 viable options in midfield with PEH and Skipp.
You cannot compare the two appointments at all.
This season he gets a bit of a free ride. Next season, no more excuses, he has to deliver. He does seem to be getting an easy time though from the same supporters that hounded out both Jose and Nuno.
On the positive we are seeing a pattern of play but over reliance on our weakest positions seems to contradict what a good coach does which is maximise your strengths....not expose your weaknesses.
Jury still out for me regarding Conte. But we still support Spurs through thick and thin

Underwhelmed by him which I’m really annoyed about
On paper if there kwas a manager I could pick to manage us in the current era it’s him (pep or Klopp but that’s just unrealistic!)
Tactics are rubbish , tantrums and digs not needed til the summer ….tactically I see no difference to how Nuno had us playing (other than formation)
The passion is great but he needs to channel it better
I don’t want us to give him loads of money to spend on his formation to then just fack off anyway
He is a loose cannon
Rather start from scratch in the summer with Potter( yes I know he did supposedly turn us down ) or Hassenhutl
I’d be very happy with Ten Haag but that’s not happening

Worryingly Sandy, we ain't getting any younger!
Watched a vid from AG, and he said that this is the management style of Conte, to antagonise the owners and fans, to hammer the point to the owner about backing the club.
Man, that's a proper way to alienate same fans!
Can't knock Conte for being honest. I am not 100% sold him yet and if he did walk away in the summer it really is no big deal for me based on his formation and tactics or lack of.
But I do like the fact he is consistently laying down his expections. If he is here or not come the summer the team needs an major facelift

He is treating this season like a pre season, I don't mind this but the way he talks is like he isn't even up for the pre-season. So what's the point.
I am slightly disappointed in him and the style of play we are employing..
We undoubtedly need more quality on the pitch but his constant moaning only adds to the disappointment and he does seem like he's making excuses...there is no tact in what he say, it's just, think it say it! Jose had verbal diarrhoea but you kinda thought everything he said was thought through and for a reason. Conte just seems like an incessant moaner and while he may be 100% different with the players it doesnt half draw attention to the club, attention we really do not need.
Massively disappointed with him and called it months ago…if he wasn’t such a big name he woulda been under huge pressure if not sacked already. We have only played well in a handful of games - don't forget how dire a lot of our early victories were under him e.g. leeds, watford, vitesse.
Hes got us knocked out of 3 comps too and we’ve fallen away further in the league. Only reason I’d have him stay is the hope of what could become but mainly because of we just can’t deal with anymore upheaval. Ideally though, we sell Kane, bring in Potter and build from scratch.
I'm growing a bit tired of it all. Antonio, we know the squad is a bit shiiiiiit. We know you're competitive and want to challenge for silverware. We know the club need to match those ambitions. But just shut the feck up and concentrate on our run in. Nothing can be done until the summer anyway so he'd be wise to wind his neck in.
The irony is that if he spent more time focusing on what he has to get us over the line in that chase for fourth, he'd be in a better position in the transfer market should we qualify. By downplaying what we have and pushing home what we need at this stage, he's making qualification harder and therefore budgets smaller come the summer.
I'm not sure I want this diva in charge if it's going to continue like this. He's not pulled up any trees.
Someone on here said "If Conte stayed for 5 years I'm sure he'd build a top team". Would he? What pedigree does he have for that? He's not a builder. He's a fine tuner. Great at assembling a jigsaw with all the pieces in pristine condition. He has shown neither the patience nor the skill set for finding lost or damaged pieces.
What we've done with Conte is what United tried to do with Van Gaal and Jose. We're on very similar paths right now. Both trying to patch up botched operations and both require a more holistic approach to building. In short, we both need to stop chasing the quick fix. Antonio Conte IS the quick fix. That's why, despite what Paul Scholes says, and I agree with Gary Neville on this one, he's not right for Spurs or United.
Both Spurs and United need to decide who they are and how they want to play. That then feeds into recruitment, coaching and player profile.
I'm worried they're gonna get Erik Ten Hag. I think he'd be perfect for us. I'm more than happy to wait another 4-5 years as long as I can see the progress we saw under Poch.
Right now we're just treading water and we have been since Poch was sacked. We're lucky we're not in a further state. One glance at Everton proves that no club is too famous to go down, regardless of how much you spend.

Like his predecessors, maybe Conte is deploying tactics to best fit the players at his disposal, there is no point trying to play possession based football with players like Hojbjerg, Winks etc, they are simply not technically good enough to play that style of football. It is no surprise that all our previous managers try to set us up to play on the break, which is our strength. We don`t have players to dominate and unlock defences that sit back.
