Certainly one of the top talents of the past few years. You don`t get to play in a four time CL winning team if you are not. Probably on easy street now, but he has earnt that. Not sure any footballer though should be paid half a million pounds a week, just for kicking a bit of leather about, when most people cannot even heat their houses properly.

Its a shame because the club where has achieved so much success and spent most of his career, the fans really dont seem to like him.
He's a national hero here and is arguably the best player from the British Isles to ever play abroad.
Of course I'm going to love him for what he's done for the national team but, if I were supporting his club, it would be a little annoying seeing him not play for Real but play the full 90 mins a few days later for his country. For us though that just cements his legendary status.

However he probably doesn't regret his decision given what he's won out there to be fair.

Good post. Nowadays I think it's come to the point where it's the club that's intentionally frozen him out, but the UK media have generally, and understandably, only pushed his side of the story. His post-match statements last night show (not for the first time) an astounding lack of self-awareness.
Robb, as for how he'll be remembered, it will very much depend on who you ask. Wales fans will rightly idolise him.
I've always thought Madrid fans have lacked perspective and SHOULD remember all the good stuff he did whilst at the club, but unfortunately any bridges have long since been blasted into oblivion.
