Nothing against women’s football but it really annoys me that the BBC website has it plastered all over the mens football site. Same with rugby and cricket. Why can’t they have a dedicated women’s football section. I’m sure it’s the moronic pc brigade that does it but it puts me off the wishy washy BBC.

It's fairly comprehensible, really.
Women's football has only been professional for a few years in a handful of countries; it's completely normal for the rest to have a lot of catching up to do. And in many places, women doing sports that have traditionally been associated with men is widely frowned upon socially, and sometimes even restricted legally.
You even see that still in the UK, despite it being one of the most liberal countries in the world. This article, and the general response women's football gets on this site is perfect evidence of the fact.
If you think about it, the results quoted are probably not too different to those England's men's team might've got if it had played a lot of those countries back in 1910, only football wasn't anywhere near as organised and international travel wasn't as easy back then.
I think it's great that women's football is growing in popularity.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I came to say something but can’t put it better than this.
Some countries simply won’t have developed their women’s side of the game yet, so these results are to be expected.
Domestic women’s football is good entertainment and getting technically better, which is brilliant to see.
My question is how long before a woman manager gets a gig in men’s professional game? Not saying there are any candidates now, but surely in 10 / 15 years?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Never going to happen in a million years, the little women`s football I have seen is lacking in any real quality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But is it gaining in popularity ?
First, whilst not at all sexist, the fact is women's football is generally not very good. Play it by all means, but please don't tell me the game has real quality and is going places fast..
There are one or two reasonable players, but the matches I have seen are generally like games we played when in the juniors. You know, kick the ball and everyone runs in the same direction.
Also, even the most ardent "fans" must admit the whole women's football movement is currently being enabled by the likes of Sky and the Beeb, to tick those PC boxes they seem to love.
Then there is the average crowd at a women's game. I read somewhere recently, it is around 500 to 1000. Hardly confirming this has "arrived"

Yes it should.
You don’t have to measure it up to the mens game but let it be it’s own thing and let the people who play and support it enjoy it.
The goalkeeping ability is comical in womens football, can’t take it serious.
This call for equal play between men and womens football is hilarious as well, if it got forced clubs would just shut down their womens teams.
Women’s football is just rubbish.
I wouldn’t want to go and listen to a mediocre band, when there were some actually good musicians playing nearby.
It`s a load of shiete, the only reason to watch it is for the eye candy and a good perv
I’d take it more seriously if the kit they wear was like woman's beach volleyball , that would be nice 👌

God, how predictable
Some good out field play on occasion and I’ve no problem with mixed under 11s sides.
But the goal keeping is atrocious and it’s because they insist on playing in full size goals, and the majority of female keepers are too small for these goals - hence the high score lines

I don't get how they don't have taller goalkeepers in between the sticks. I mean all 3 of England's goalkeepers are shorter than 5'9. Couldn't they find someone who is close to 6ft and train them up?

this was the Womens world champions at the time and possibly the best Womens National side of all time beaten by children.
It annoys me a bit I have to look at the woman’s scores scrolling down the sky sports fixtures/results page when I’ve got an acca on, I have to be honest. To me it’s pointless
To be fair the scores Spurs are racking up lately, you would think they were playing women`s teams.
