"Yes we could imploded. God knows we have done that often in the past. But it would take an absolutely catestropic slump in form, literally overnight, for us to mess up from here in."

Isn't this what people were saying about Arsenal?

I don't know how many points we'll get but we are in the driving seat now. Better fixtures than Arsenal, playing well, they are stuttering a bit and have no world class players, and need to win their game in hand.

Unless we get hit by some injuries to key players then I'm optimistic.

I'm not saying I don't enjoy these articles but it's almost impossible to predict results!

Our form suggests we should win or pick up points in most of the remaining games, and I don't think arsenal have suddenly become bad enough to not get back on track and do the same.

For me it's all about the NLD - win that and we should get top four, draw and it's likely, lose and it's going to be very tough. So much hinges on that game.

Utd are a mess and seem to have accepted that fact. West Ham lost form at the wrong time. Wolves, absolute credit, but it's not happening for them this season.

posted on 11/4/22

I'd hope we go into the NLD with 3+ points and a far stronger GD so even if we lose all we need to do is beat Burnley and Norwich.

I'm sure there will be more twists and turns but we currently look very good and I'd expect us to keep this form up.

Steve, I think Spurs only need to win their four home games to finish 4th. No way will Arsenal not lose just one of those last eight games. I expect them to lose at least four. They have just suffered back to back defeats by Palace and Brighton, and those were supposed to be two of their easier fixtures. Arsenal simply do not have enough up front, and their defence is pretty average to take that 4th spot now.

Of course I could be wrong.

The race is between arsenal and spurs. Would have been great if The NLD was the last game of the season

This. I don’t want to go into the NL derby neck and neck. Can you imagine if we lost? I want to go into that derby 3 points + ahead with a superior goal difference meaning we could get a draw v Arsenal and it wouldn’t be the end of the world. Like you say, we would literally just need to beat Burnley or Norwich to get 4th. I want Arsenal out of sight before the last game.

No away wins for Arsenal in 5 away games? I suspect they'll win one or even two.

Assuming you suffer no vital injuries to Kane, Son or Kulusevski, you should get 4th relatively comfortably. I don't see us dislodging you.

We are shiiit. We are a totally different team without Tomiyasu, Partey and Tierney, as you have seen.

Honestly, I think we need to make sure we still get some form of European football because I'm worried we're going to fall into freefall and spiral downhill.

As long as you don't lose the NLD, I think you'll get enough points from the other fixtures to get 4th. 70 points should be enough.

I make him right Don, they simply do not have enough up front to worry most of those teams they have to play in the run in. OK beating the smaller clubs, but they still have to play Chelsea, West Ham, Spurs and Man United. They aint winning any of those games. United may be playing rubbish at the moment, but they are more than capable of beating Arsenal.

Huh? I'm never confident when it comes to Arsenal. Haven't been for about a decade.

I just don't think we're as bad as you think we are, although we're not as good as some Arsenal fans think we are.

I don’t think you are a bad team. I just think your fans overrate yourself. You went on that run against let’s be honest, mostly weak opposition and ESR,Saka, Ramsdale etc we’re all world class. I predicted once your fixtures got tougher, you would see Arsenal start to crumble which so far has happened. Although you should be beating Brighton at home. 4th is still up for grabs though and we are also capable of f** up, but I think we have hit form at the right time and with our 2 new signings plus Romero, I’m confident now we will get 4th

perfect scenario. we draw at anfield, therefore sending the title to Etihad, then we wack the goonies at a rocking WHL to mathetically cement us in the top 4. I mean a proper shoeing, 4 or 5-0 or something.

and then a few days later we beat Burnley at home, therefore relegating them and eliminating that horrible annual trip to turf moor for us to get our arris kicked.

I think this is fair. I also think our signings had performed better than we expected and we got better results than we expected, which is why some Arsenal fans were getting quite overexcited about our top-4 hopes.

I obviously don't know whether we'd have made it even if we had everyone fit, but it certainly would have improved our chances.

Truthfully, I was never fully confident because of the hard games we had left and our inexperience of being in this position with these players.

However, with key players being out, and with Spurs hitting form at the right time and their attack clicking, as well as having a superior manager and 'easier' fixture list, I think it would take something monumental for you to not get 4th.

You should have a fairly clear run at it now IMO.

I think 13 points gets us over the line providing 1 of those points is against Arsenal. It would leave Arsenal needing 16 further points from a possible 21 factoring in our superior GD. I can’t see them getting more than 4 points in that Chelsea A United H and West Ham away run of fixtures
