Why are we playing Newcastle at Turf Moor?

Just touched down in Hawaii so time difference alone will make me miss this one. Burnley sounding like they had a boost tonight. Big game all around.

To be fair they played well and deserved their 3 points.

Vitally important on a personal level for me this one. If we let Burnley win and go above Everton, I'll get no s*x for the rest of the season.

Well that's what she threatens but I reckon she'll crack before I do

We have only beaten Burnley once in our last 11 meetings. Let's hope we can get #2 in 12.

Big game for Wolves this one coupled with next week’s home game with Brighton we need 4 or 6 points to set us up for our difficult end to the season with matches against Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool that we will be favourites to lose. At least we have a home game against Norwich amongst that lot

Man Utd’s next two games are against Arsenal and Chelsea. West Ham’s next two games are against Chelsea and Arsenal. So they could well get no points from those.

So by 1st May, Utd could have 54 points from 35 games and West Ham could have 52 points from 35 games. Win our next two games and we would have 55 points from 34 games.

If back in August we had been offered still having a chance of Europe in late April I would have bitten your hands off. Hats off to Bruno

I really hope that Bruno starts his strongest side both defensively and offensively. If so and assuming everyone is fit the starting 11 picks itself.

Sa
Boly, Coady, Kilman
Semedo, Jonny
Neves, Moutinho
Podence, Jimenez, Neto

I'm certain that you're right Gem, that is our strongest starting 11. I'm equally certain that won't be the 11 that takes he field.

Neves, Podence and Kilman all evidently won’t be fit for the Burnley game

Just read that Stephen Ward has announced his retirement at the age of thirty six. Seems like 5 minutes ago that Mick signed him as a striker and he won the Championship player of the month in his first few weeks.

Odd though that he would retire with a few games of the season left to play, he was on pundit duty on Sky last night for the Burnley Southampton game so maybe he fancies a few more of those gigs before the season ends.

Thought he came over quite well as a pundit. Had a decent career has Wardy. Something like 200 Championship appearances, 170 Premier League and 50 Irish caps. Good luck to him

Having watched the Burnley v Southampton game, it seems that the Dyche sacking has had a positive affect on the players. I think that we will do well to get a point from this game.

Andy Keogh retiring too, became something of a legend in Perth it seems. I seem to recall that he and Wardy signed around the same time along with Kightly's loan becoming permanent. Will always remember his goal away at Wigan after we got promoted to the Prem. Dont think he got many more for us though.

Dunno Gem, Southampton have been on the beach for a while now, we'll given them a game hopefully. They've had their little bounce, and its a massive opportunity for us to grab points.

I always thought Ward would have done well in Nuno's set up had he still been here in the Championship year. Had a good career and certainly one of those who made the most of their ability.

If as Spangles says, Neves, Podence and Kilman are unavailable then the starting 11 looks quite different to the one I proposed earlier

Sa
Boly, Coady, Saiss
Semedo, Jonny
Moutinho, Dendoncker
Trincao, Jimenez, Neto

And a bench of
Ruddy
Gomez
Marcal
Ait-Nouri
Cundle
Hwang
Silva
Chiquinho
ANO

Not exactly inspiring is it? I'd take a draw right now.

May we’ll be that team gem, but

Could be Tito not Saiss. Maybe and hopefully Semedo and Jonny as the wing backs but Bruno hasn’t picked that pairing yet. Neves will be missed but I think Donk has done ok since being recalled. Be good to see Neto but he hasn’t been starting in recent games. And Trincao has generally been poor in away games.

Wouldn’t rule out a team of

Sa
Boly, Coady, Saiss
Jonny, Moutinho, Dendoncker, Cundle, Marcal
Fabio, Jimenez

Not that this team would be my choice
