They are literally evidence of why you are wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No they are not.
What’s wrong with proposing defunding law enforcement in order to redirect funds to family, drug, community and mental healthcare support services, when similar programmes have delivered absolutely fantastic results elsewhere in the world?
==========================
Cant compare most countries to a country like the states which has over 15k murders a year and about 700 million guns in circulation.

It’s evidence-based policymaking.

Your post assumes there isn’t already a massive amount of money spent on those.
It’s ignorance to assume it’s one or the other.
The defund the police movement was directed at removing the police then after the fact was justified at putting the money into social reform programs, as an excuse.
Doesn’t hold water if you actually research what you’re saying

How about studies in the US itself, including one looking at 60 years of data, which have shown that there’s no correlation between increased police spending and crime prevention/crime rates?

Fundamentally untrue.
Various social reform campaign and political groups in the US have been campaigning for the diversion of police funds to family, social and drug support programmes for more than a generation.

Isn't that towns like Bumphuk, Tennesee where you get to be Sheriff because your Uncle's the mayor and you employ your inbrredd cousins as deputies?
You all remember that jussie smollett thing. That was some funny chit.
I think it’s an issue in America across a broad scale. Apparently in some places the firearms training is really poor, and these people just aren’t properly equipped to deal with all the issues they have to solve - it’s one of the reasons people want to defund the police, a specialist dealing with domestic abuse cases, for example, would be better than some roidhead with a gun.
And who would be best equipped to deal with an armed shooter? Coz I don't think a friendly word is gonna cut a lot of ice
What do you think is a bigger problem, kids being gender confused or people shooting up schools? About equal?

That doesn't mean all police will be canned though.
Here in the UK police don't carry guns for all the routine stuff but there's specialised units for those types of situations who will have a tonne of training
