It's been a good season for sure, certainly after everything that happened with lockdown. A welcome tonic.
Bit weird too really because at the start it all looked fairly predictable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What was predicted at the start of the season and during the first few weeks of the season was a lot different to how the season has panned out.

Not really. Liverpool were the best team in Europe in the 70s and 80s. They didn't routinely win 15 games in a row. As is the case for both them and City now and has been the case for about a decade in terms of the disparity in this league.
The record points tally for a league champion was 95 until 2018. That tally is now par for champions. Yes Liverpool and City are class but it shouldn't be seen as ridiculous to suggest the rest of the league is crap. It is

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah you're right. The average points tally for champions in the last 10 years is about 93. Teams never dropping points and there being zero jeopardy is a testimony to the strength of the ever competitive league. Yeah
So because the league has two exceptionally strong teams, some are would argue the strongest ever, the league is weak? That's what you're saying?
That having two exceptionally strong teams makes the league weak.
I'm not sure you thought that through.

The league has had plenty of exceptional teams over the years. However, we didn't have an average Chelsea team getting 93 points and winning the league until this points smashing era. Come on, Victor effing Moses was starting every week for them. And they won about 20 games in a row.
It's okay to admit that whilst your team is exceptionally good, the opposition is also exceptionally bad. And the disparity has never been greater

So either our league is weak and suddenly the rest of the world is even worse or you're talking bollox.
It's not even up for debate and is literally the kind if thing Sandy says.

English clubs dominated in Europe from 2007-2013. They didn't tend to win 15 games in a row though. The excitement is killing me. And Jurgen forcing through 5 subs for next season can only create more frame.

So instead of crediting Liverpool and City you decide instead that all the rest of the league have all turned crap? And at the same time too?
Since England is dominating the Champions League, Europa league and Conference league the rest of Europe and the world must be worse than England and therefore all of global football is crap.
City and Liverpool are the anomaly, not the rest of football at the same time.
What's this now?
Klopp has 'forced through' a rule change has he?
You're clearly on the wum. Have a nice day.
I don’t know Merry, a lot of variables to take into consideration. Wasn’t City 14 pts ahead of Liverpool?
Personally, i think the League has got stronger and stronger. You’ve seen the Evolution over the years.
UTD - then Arsenal for 10 years - Chelsea, who have stayed competitive for 20 years. - Man City - Spurs actually becoming a bonafide competitor- Liverpool now a title contending team.
West Ham have evolved- Leicester City - and possibly now the re-emergence of Newcastle Utd
It’s just, City and Liverpool have set an insane bar to reach. I think They are that good, rather than others being that bad.

The have been a multitude of changes in football over the last 20-30 years which have increasingly favoured attacking football. From the laws of the game and the increased protection to players, what defines a penalty, to the fitness of the players, the quality of the pitches played on, the squad sizes and depth.
The better teams with the better players are given every opportunity to make their superiority show. More often than not they do and the points totals show that.
Either that or the richest league in the world, attracting the best players with increased physical excellence has somehow got worse.

Well the rule change was voted on 6 occasions. And it was rejected on 5. But he kept bringing it back to the table until it went through. And now that the rule has been introduced, it won't be voted on again. It's "democracy" in the loosest sense of the word.
Jesus. Go and have a lie down bud.
To be fair if it wasn't for City and LFC being really good (at procuring PEDs! ) then the league would seem very competitive all the way through. It would seem childish of me not to recognise City and LFC's excellence. It's up to United to get to that standard too. No reason why we can't either with our recources if spent wisely.

Liverpool and City are insanely good. I'm not arguing against that. But a far from exceptional Chelsea got 93 points in 2017 - the second highest tally ever at that time! It's now barely in the top 10 points tallies, such is the regularity with which points tallies are being smashed.
Obviously Liverpool and City are fantastic, but the disparity in the league is stark. It's not a challenge for those two great teams and it is a bore. Not their fault, it's just how it is
