Thanks chile, what are the rules on away goals, or isn't there one?

Morning all

No away goals ruling...they did away with that years ago

Apparently VAR won’t be used in the semi finals, but maybe used in the final, another about turn by the EFL it seems.

I am nervous, stressed and uncomfortable

Can’t wait for kick off but dreading it at the same time!

I was convinced that we would beat Muf so perhaps I'm wrong about this next game.
I hope Super Steve Cooper can get some players back Davis for example and get the players up for it.

Doesn’t bode too well, the u-18’s are 3-1 down at OT, the second goal was a penalty, but the foul was a couple of feet OUTSIDE the box, how many poor refereeing decisions have we had this season, it looks like across all sides.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The EFL have reached a decision over the use of VAR in the Championship play-off semi-finals as Huddersfield Town, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United and Luton Town vie to claim a place at Wembley for a shot at promotion to the Premier League.

The Telegraph reported last week that the clubs then still in with a shout of reaching the play-offs had been approached over whether they would welcome the use of video replays to aid refereeing decisions for the play-offs, and that the response had been overwhelmingly positive.

However, it has now been confirmed to the clubs involved that VAR will not be in use for either semi-final, with Huddersfield facing Luton and Sheffield United taking on Forest over two legs. Whether that may change for the final at Wembley is currently unclear.

What an absolute joke.

EFL: Do you want to use VAR to stop poor officiating?

Clubs involved: Yes, great idea.

EFL: Ok, we won't use it then.

This feels like going to fight in Vegas. You have to KO them to win.

Cooperman picked up manager of the month, Johnson player of the month, just hope that doesn’t jinx us. Also looks the EFL have now decided VAR will be in use, but ONLY for the final.

Mornin hole, with EFL in charge a KO might only get you a draw, nothing is guaranteed with that bunch of narcissistic muppets.

Thanks for posting 'chile.

Lot of people predicting a 1-1 for this one. Obviously that would suit us better than Sheff. I think that Sheff will come at us like a train from the kick off but if we can get to 20 mins without conceding we will start to push back.

I think our FBs will be asked to be not too adventurous while it is all square. But maybe push on late on to try and nick a goal.

Best we can hope for with Davis is a place on the bench and only come on if we are desperate for a goal.

I'll go with popular opinion and predict a score draw.

I'm not a fan of VAR, but would sooner have that than some of the refs we have had this season.

But in the one game we had VAR it seemed to have been weighted in favour of L'pool.

from Evening post

The first leg will be overseen by Andre Marriner, who has not been in charge of a game featuring either side this season. Michael Oliver will then be the referee for the second leg and will also be taking charge of his first game of the campaign for either side.

1-1, to be fair Luton pressure leads to goal, did have a hint of offside

Surely those two can get a few decisions right. Just hope somebody has told them there is no VAR so it’s down to them.

I hope our game tomorrow will display better quality football than this game. Let's face it, neither side are setting the world alight.

‘Udders denied a nailed on penalty inside 15 seconds, what ever you do, don’t leave it in the hands of the officials.

posted on 13/5/22

Their goal was offside too...var would have ruled it out

As regards to the quality remarks by one of your lot....Luton beat you 1-0 the other week there

It will be a completely different game at our place with 25,000 Terriers cheering us on

Quality lol...you couldn't even beat Hull!!

The comment was the quality drifted because of the tension, I think that’s fair, I’m sure our game will be just as edgy tomorrow, don’t think it was meant as a slur, more an observation. I doubt the second leg will be an awful lot different, let’s face it, the play offs are more renowned for being tense nervy affairs rather than open flowing football.

Your comments are always well balanced dave 👍

And yes it's a completely different scenario now in the playoffs...in the league you can lose and dust yourselves down and get 3 point's the next game....one mistake in these games and its all over!!

I don't expect el classico tomorrow,,but I think the blades will take a lead to the City ground

Looking forward to getting them back to our place now! Can't wait for Monday... What pathetic excuse will Jones use then... Cannot believe we didn't get that pen after 15 seconds! UTT

posted on 13/5/22

That's why finishing 3rd & 4th is the best.. Get the home leg second... Possibly 120 mins & pens at your own ground! 😁

Apparently Davis is in the match day squad, while Colback and Yates are doubts!

We really would miss both if they don’t make it, fingers crossed for good news 🤞🤞
