If I was a supporter of one of the 18 clubs who were never in the race i'd be hurting.
If our club was at the end of a successful era and sinking into mediocrity like arsenal or manu i'd be hurting.
If I couldn't remember the last time we played exciting quality football i'd be hurting.
Being in the chase for ALL the trophies for ALL of the season is quite simply all you can ask for as a football fan.
Hurting is not being part of the conversation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At the end of the day all you get for finishing 2nd is CL. Spurs got that as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A 92 point season should never hurt
Well done to city who just had that little bit more luck.

Weve also drew our way to 2 trophies which softens the blow.
I think the circumstances of yesterday play a huge part in how any fan (of the clubs involved) would feel as a result of how it panned put.
If it ended up that City lost yesterday, then I’ve no doubt that City fans (myself included) would feel a lot more disappointed than how any Liverpool fan feels today. If the positions were reversed, I wouldn’t feel too disappointed because it would never have been in our own hands.
If you step back and look at it all objectively, then Sir Bob’s comments are pretty much spot on. Throw into the mix the fact that Liverpool have already won the League Cup and FA Cup, and have a CL final to look forward to, then honestly, what have Liverpool fans really got to be disappointed about?
Sandy is on this thread, stating that 2nd means nothing more than 4th. Yet in a thread he himself has written today, he is using Spurs’ 4th place finish in order to paint an incredibly bright future for the club he supports. Yet here he is making a comment that that downplays what Liverpool have themselves achieved.
Which is all quite nonsensical really.
Liverpool and City are by far head and shoulders above the rest of the PL, and are arguably the two best teams in club football at this current time. With Pep and Klopp as their managers, it’s not unfeasible to state that it will be these two clubs who dominate the PL again next season. And maybe next season will see Liverpool back on top of the league.

“ Next season will show the mental strength of this group and the manager particularly if they have to move Mane or Salah along.”
Last time we lost the league by one point we won the CL and went on to win the league the next season. They’ll bounce back from this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair 3-1 could easily be 2-2 which would be fair.
I watch both teams a lot and City seem to have all the luck in the Premier league and all the bad luck in Europe and applies in reverse for Liverpool in the league.
If it was not for the injuries you would have won the premier league last season. But its a reality that Mane and Salah are approaching or in their prime and given their contract situations it could have a short term impact on the squad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolute nonsense.

that’s not true - we also got an amazing, exciting season, almost winning the league and an unprecedented quad and an amazing team to watch. All you got this season was the same old same old same old same old yawn - lucky you 🤣🤣🤣
Ah it is great how people try to spin it hard to try and put a downer on people who have enjoyed a season. Yeah of course it was disappointing that for last 16 mins or so liverpool could potentially have won the league if they scored and city didn't come back. But season was good, esp for us after that Leicester defeat.
I can tell you now finshing 2nd and losing in last 15 mins after being 14 points back in Jan, winning gtwo cups on the way with a poss 3rd has been brilliant watch .
But yeah spin it how some of you want if it makes you feel better
Yup, still hurting pretty bad from yesterday. Mainly because at 76 minutes and Villa winning 2 0 I thought that it was done and knew we would score to win our game.
It's the hope that kills you

The comments you've made on this thread just show how sad you are.
Any true fan of the game would enjoy the ride whether it took you anywhere or not. Football isn't a destination or an objective. It's not a target, it's not even a goal.
Football is a sport, it's an entertainment - and by god we've been entertained - it's a week by week hobby, it's a communal gathering of like minded friends and banter and wumming of other rival supporting friends.
I've had a FULL season of all of this, an absolutely brilliant season and the best fuc*ing ride i've been on for years. And it's not even over yet.
If you had a clue about football you'd be embarrassed about all the sheight you've posted.

I fully get it. When you are younger you took defeats really badly etc and wins.you would go over board. As you get older you get to reflect more of the entire season and some of the great games you enjoyed or not. Seems like some people just haven't grown up despite being an OAP
Like I said let them spin away.

So where are your trophies and CL final?
“ So where are your trophies and CL final?”
Like everything to do with Spurs, consigned to history
dunno what this childish stuff is about TBH.
LFC fans got to see two Dramatic Cup finals and took home the prizes and partied.
Sandy seems to want to knock that any chance he gets out of jealousy or something.
then Spurs fans got to enjoy some better times with conte and improved performances so got to enjoy that as fans for the rest of the season.
Not sure why anyone would want to begrudge anyone a good day out.
It's as simple as that. LFC fans got a huge amount of good days. the final league game was a win but no trophy. so what?
I mean We all know what it's like to be in man utd fans' position with nothing to play for and seeing it out to the bitter end (not not as some seem to think is ok)
Spurs and and LFC fans have seen plenty of season like that. Knocking off each other on an online forum for no real reason than pettiness does seem rather boring way to spend time.
Roll on the CL final.
Best of luck for all fans enjoying their days out next season. Even everton fans

At the end of the day all you get for finishing 2nd is CL. Spurs got that as well.

that’s not true - we also got an amazing, exciting season, almost winning the league and an unprecedented quad and an amazing team to watch.

Spurs make more money from their stadium than Liverpool, so no big deal.
Bottom line is whether a team is exciting or boring, and Spurs are the top Prem scorers 2022, so they are certainly not boring, makes no difference. 2nd, 3rd, 4th all get the same prize. No trophy but CL footie.

Like I said let them spin away.

dunno what this childish stuff is about TBH.
