Probably would gave won for Spurs but wasn't given a chance as he was dismissed by Levy for fear of having to pay bonus to Mourinho.

How can some folks on here think Levy cares about trophies, when he sacks a manager leading the side to a cup final, just to save a few bob?

And to thin fans are getting carried away with 150m

There was no guarantee he was going to win a trophy. I mean we were playing City in the final, it wasn't Feyenoord.

Must admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of the style under Mourinho but was extremely annoyed when Levy did that. The one guy you want when playing a final… instead we got someone who had 0 experience as manager…

Yep, Spurs the only club he has failed to win silverware at. And Levy sacked him a week before a cup final to save a few quid, that tells us all where our owners priorities lie.

I will also get excited about the recent cash injection after the window has closed, Levy is a master at pulling the wool over peoples eyes and plays a lot of our fans like a fiddle.

Levy is a clever businessman, he has instantly got most of our fans excited and back on side, even though no new players have arrived yet.

Release news of a £150m cash injection to get the fans on side, but the proof will be after the window closes.

£150m isn’t enough. Needs to be £150m + sales + CL money. I know that sounds mad but we still need to pay for loaned players etc. some players may cost £50m + so to really improve the squad it will cost more like £250m than £150m

History has not been kind to Spurs when it's come to spending a lot on players. Most of our biggest signings have been flops. I don't know how much it will cost us but as long as we get the right players. Hopefully with who we've signed already under Paratici, we will. We can't afford another Ndombele.

Hes a shiiit manager and a total caaant and the best decision levy ever made was sacking him

Quiz question for the future, who was the only club Jose never won a trophy for. Why did we ever hire him, he was sold out even before utd.

Second worst manager after AVB I've had to endure as a spurs fan. Nuno was probably even worse but thankfully Levy got rid so quickly I've quickly forgotten him.

Congrats to Jose for qualifying for the Europa League next season

The only two seasons where we haven’t finished top 4 in recent years are there ones where Mourinho was our manager at some point. Tells you all you need to know, although he wasn’t exactly helped by the club when he asked for things like a proven quality centre back and was given Joe Rodon instead.

I was no fan of Jose but sacking him 6 days before the lc final was ridiculous.

I was amazed at how little grief Levy got for it but I guess most Spurs supporters were so glad to be rid of him that he was forgiven for the timing of the decision.

Also Levy did it at the same time the Super League plans were announced. Always meant Jose’s sacking would go under the radar somewhat.

Except we immediately went from having 20% chance of winning a trophy to 0. Yeah he had to go but the timing was facking atrocious.

Spurs actually have a very good record against Man City. Mourinho could have pulled it off. He knocked out Pep Man City who managed 0 shots on target in 2016/17 league cup exit against us.

Jose is a winner, no matter what our fan base say. Ridiculous he got sacked a few days before a final.

Ridiculous comment seeing as Spurs regularly beat City, and only narrowly lost the final with a novice in charge.

Especially considering Jose's record against Pep in finals.. you can hate him all you like and yes we were terrible, but it was bad call.

Shocking decision. I am certain Jose would have got Spurs over the line, beat Chelsea on route, and have lost four times to Chelsea since Jose left.

I wanted Jose out eventually, but I wanted him out after the Europa embarrassment when we got knocked out by Zagreb. When Levy was keeping him on, he should have just let him see out the season. Give him the cup final. Another ridiculous decision by Daniel Levy to add to the long list of his. This cash injection better be spent on players only. If i hear it’s being spent on off field matters like hotels etc, I’m going to be fuming 😡

Does not matter mate, Jose has just won Roma their first Eurooean trophy.

Jose, five European finals, five wins.

Jose, first manager to win all three European trophies on offer.
