The only argument of merit there is Haaland's international goals. Then again, you say it's not all about numbers, but numbers are the only argument you've made.
For the rest, your reply contains a considerable number of inaccuracies:
1. Age difference
Haaland turns 22 in July. Agüero turned 23 in June 2011. That's a 13-month gap, a year if you don't wish to split hair, which I very much doubt is what you had in mind in your original claim.
2. Atleti, the 3rd/4th club in Spain
On silverware and current financial muscle, Atlético are Spain's 3rd club. But the 10 years prior to Agüero's arrival they were mired in a financial and sporting crisis. In that time, they had several bottom half finishes, spent two years in the and never finished higher than 7th, and hadn't qualified for Europe since the turn of the century.
So no, there is absolutely no comparison to the BvB side that Haaland's played in.
The resurgency you speak of happened as of Agüero's arrival, not before. Atlético have always had recognisable names in their squads but back in those times most of them were either washed up or had lost their way and often joined Atlético as a kind of last chance saloon. Maniche was a fat fack, a good 10-15 lbs overweight; he never pulled up any trees in Spain and got sent out on loan in his second season. Costinha was into his 30s and never even a starter. Liverpool reject Luis García arrived in 07-08, when Agüero was already there, and was another flop who made 12 and 5 league starts respectively in his two seasons with them.
Torres, their only actual star, was an academy lad who'd been around since their Second Division days. As soon as Atleti saw the gem they'd found in Agüero, they flogged Torres to Liverpool for a record fee and brought in Forlán to provide the goals.
So, as stated, Forlán wouldn't arrive until the following season either. Your comment is contradictory in that regard, because you state both that he arrived after Agüero, but also that he was already there playing off Torres.
To be clear, Agüero played a single season, as an 18-year-old, alongside Torres. Forlán was his strike partner the rest of his time there, which brings me to the next point.
As established, your assertion that Forlán played both off Torres and Agüero is wrong, not only because the former were never together at the club, but also because it was Torres and Forlán who played the main striker role at Atleti. Agüero played the support striker role to both, just as Diego Costa did for Falcao until the latter moved on and he slotted into the 9 position.
Back to Haaland - yes, his goalscoring record is indeed impressive. Goal-a-game strikers are extremely rare, more so at his age - but I also think it's pretty unarguable that the sides he's played for so far have pretty much played for him and to his strengths, while Agüero at his same age was carrying a much greater creative burden and devoting much of his time looking to create chances for another striker.
I'm not saying that Agüero's signing created more expectation, but what I do think is that at the time he was a much more rounded footballer.
His accomplishments up to that point were much more than the number of goals he'd scored, which is why Atlético pretty much threatened to battle Real Madrid in the Spanish courts and drag it out as many years as possible just to prevent them from signing him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
champions league goals comparison is not a fair reflection either? Ageuros numbers in the CL for Man City are a decent bit poorer than Haalands at BVB & Salzburg.
in regards to the Alteti argument, I was highlighting that when Aguero was at atleti they were the top 3/4 team in spain what level they were before or after the time aguero was there, thats irrelevant.
When Aguero was at Atleti they had a much stronger team than the years before he was there. the players I mentioned where all signed at the same time as aguero it wasnt just ageuro that raised their level.
And yes in his first season at Atleti Aguero was not the 1st choice striker the 1st choice was torres as a 9 with forlan playing off torres in the 10 role, after ageuros first year torres was sold and he stepped into the first choice 9 role.
We can only use the numbers as data to compare the two cos thats the only black and white data we have. How else do you suggest we compare the two without delving into opinion.
Haaland is a bigger profile signing than Ageuro was, its more anticipated than Ageuro and so far Haaland has outperformed what Aguero did prior to Man City depsite doing it over a shorter period of time.
I think if Haaland stays fit, he smashes the accomplishments of Ageuros at man city on the basis of that if he maintains the numbers he has produced so far he will sail past him in prob half the time !

Yes, CL goals is another fair point, sorry I missed that, although you insist on ignoring the point about statistics only being part of the story.
Again, and I don't know why it seems so difficult to get this across to you: Forlan and Torres NEVER PLAYED TOGETHER FOR ATLÉTICO.
Forlan joined from Villarreal in the same off-season that Torres was sold.
Check this website. It gives the entire squad by season, along with a breakdown by competition, position, appearances/games started/games completed/sub appearances, etc.
https://www.bdfutbol.com/en/t/t2006-077.html
Clicking on minutes played, it will also show you match data for each player. Here are Agüero's for his first season:
https://www.bdfutbol.com/en/p/j2507.html?temp=2006-07&cat=Pre-1a
You'll see he made 25 starts and played minutes in all 38 games. You can also go to each starting line-up and see that the vast majority of his starts were partnering Torres - not as a sub for Torres. In fact, in the few games I've checked where he came on as a sub, he wasn't brought on to replace Torres, but to play alongside him.
The following seasons with Forlán were the same.
By the way, Atlético finished 4th in only 2 out of the 5 seasons Agüero spent with them. The other ones they finished 7th, 9th and 7th. Agüero's frustration at the club's failure to push forward was precisely one of the reasons he decided he had to move on, with Maradona, his father-in-law, publicly stating that Real Madrid would be the best place for him to pursue his career.
When you say Haaland is a bigger profile signing than Agüero was, I agree: back then Messi and Ronaldo were in their primes, and after a very long time out in the wilderness, Atlético at the time were a far less fashionable and recognisable name than BvB nowadays.
When you talk about outperforming, though, you are looking solely at goal returns, which is where I maintain that you're making a big mistake.
Agüero had been voted best player in La Liga, which is a big deal in a league where, amongst others, boasted the likes of Messi, Robben, Sneijder, Xavi, Iniesta, Ronaldino, Yaya Touré, Forlán...
He was also a two-time U20 World Champion, having been both the Golden Ball and Golden Boot of the 2007 edition. We was an Olympic gold medalist, and a Europa League winner...so there's an argument to say he'd achieved a fair deal more than Haaland.
Going back to Haaland.
La Liga boss and RM has reported City to UEFA because the fee was too low - Even though it was set By Dortmund.
Meanwhile RM coach, Florentino Perez has stated that Haaland would have just been back up to Benzema if they'd signed him.
Presumably Mbappe would have just been making the tea and cleaning boots.

A bit harsh on Mbappé that, I reckon he might be able to make room for himself on the starting team, even though he'd have to prove himself worthier than the kid who's scored more CL-winning goals than any player in a City shirt, ever.
As for Haaland, a one-time German Cup winner playing as back up for a season in order to learn at close quarters from a 5-time Champions League winner and current Ballon d'Or elect sounds about right. It would undoubtably be very beneficial for him, tbh.

For the rest, Rodrygoooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
