I must admit, the apparent lack of activity is worrisome. Only talk is of Eriksen and de Jong, neither of whom seem desperate to join.
I’d like to think we are also working on other targets, but I’m past being surprised by the clubs strategy by this point.

Tbf, there has also been plenty of ‘talk’ about Antony, Timber, Dumfries, and Lisandro Martinez, as well as murmurings about others.
Some will obviously be fabricated agent/press nonsense, but there’ll be plenty more going on than we’re reading about in the dailies.
Would have loved Dumfries. He’s been good every time I’ve seen him

Just lazy journalism, surely, name every Dutch/ Ajax player who worked with him.
I guess time will tell, but the season isn’t far away and other clubs appear to be making substantial improvements to their squads.
Pretty sure that things have been frantically going on and will be announced soon. I don't think United keep the Daily Star etc; in their 'need to know about our own business' loop.

Sure, he’s tenure will be looked upon as one of the worst. How we finished 6th I don’t know. Well, everyone else around us were cack too, and that goes for Spurs and even a wobbling Chelsea.

Sky Sports, 30 mins ago:
West Ham United have made an offer to Jesse Lingard’s representatives over signing the player on a free transfer.
Lingard officially becomes a free agent on July 1 following the expiration of his Manchester United contract.
Lingard had a successful loan spell at West Ham in the second half of the 2020/21 season when he scored nine goals in 16 Premier League starts.

Yep. I think we finished 4th.
“I can cope with despair, it’s the hope that kills you….”
Pretty much every United fan through the 70’s and 80’s
Getting relegated just 7 years after winning the European cup (I dont remeber that) was the re- making of Man United, under Tommy Doc. And in them days United were still alone as the big dog in English football. Nobody was close. Liverpool were just starting their journey) We could spend our way out of anything apparently. Wrong.
What Doc did was to give belief back as reds. On the pitch we played the United way. On the front foot everybody comfortable on the ball. Literally thousands locked out of OT every week and away games were like scenes from Ben Hur.
Last 10 years post fergie has been a similar massive decline. Other English clubs match and better us now financially. We no longer have the best ground albeit still the biggest. And now we are the not first choice for players. Who would have thought that?. And we are probably the worst run club in the PL. But we still have along way to fall to get relegated. FFS we were runners up 12 months ago. We must have some talent in the squad without buying anybody. Which is what Ten Hag is saying right now. Up to him now to get tunes out of that lot with whatever he gradually brings in. Or else we are fecked.
But fortunately, the way it works now, we will probably be never relegated again.
I think we to accept what’s given to us this summer. Give ETH as season to do what he wants and then spend big next summer

Ten Hag hasn't once said he's happy with what we have right now and certainly hasn't said he doesn't want to sign anybody. He hasn't said anything in fact. But I doubt he's looking to start next season with what we have now. If he is, then he has inflated opinions of his coaching abilities.
We do have some talent in the squad. Less than City, Liverpool, Chelsea or even Arsenal, given recent signings. I doubt relegation is on his mind. But with this squad, winning anything won't be on his mind either.
I'd ask people to look at our squad at the start of next season and see where they think it stands ability wise. That's where you should expect Ten Hag to get us to in the league, at best. Whilst allowing for acclimatization etc. I don't we'll finish higher than 6th again. Though I do think we'll play better football, over time.

ETH obviously has more confidence in his own ability to manage the club. Rangnick was awful.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sure, he’s tenure will be looked upon as one of the worst. How we finished 6th I don’t know. Well, everyone else around us were cack too, and that goes for Spurs and even a wobbling Chelsea.
We just couldn’t put a run together. Soul destroying.
Never felt so helpless watching my club. Never ever have felt as lost in all my time watching them.
Last season was as brutal as it got.
Hopefully not to be repeated.

Ive seen a lot worse

At UTD?
Surely not, when?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
73-74, 77-81, 86-87 I'd guess.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
pretty much.

85-86 season for me. We won the first 10 games and promised so much, then delivered didley squat

Luton stopped us getting the league record of 11 wins if I remember rightly. I think we drew1-1.

Yep. I think we finished 4th.
