Sancho isn't a player who has one or two specialities which, when studied, can be nullified. He's a clever and technically accomplished footballer who thrives in a system that has intelligent movement around him. He didn't have much chance to orchestrate moves or pick out passes in last season's shambles.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you watch Shinji's video the drill they are doing at the three minute mark is designed specifically to orchestrate pass and move and talking to each other.
One of the teams I played for in the 80's used to do it in training and as our warm up before a match.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Watching United over the last few years has been very frustrating. Even little things that would improve their game aren't being carried out. Things like passing into space for an player moving forward rather than a sideways or backwards pass killing momentum. These are things even people like me try to do when we're having a kick about. It doesn't always go right but, then again, you'd expect a pro to be able to play a 20 yard pass into space better than me too!

With Rashford, I can't help but think it's the back and shoulder injuries that have done him in. I read his face and see pain. I think sometimes we just expect that surgery will be 100% successful because so often it is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Shoulder injuries can be an absolute baaastard. Even muscular tear injuries like his end a lot of sportspeople’s careers.
People also forget that the season before that he had a double stress fracture in his back which kept him out for months.
We have no idea what he played through the season before last and the long term damage that might have caused, or how his body is holding up now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, I really feel for Rashford. He has repeatedly been rushed back from injuries and overplayed. A lot of our attacking players have picked up injuries in the last couple of seasons, which has meant that he has had to keep toiling away. Last season he was poor. The season before that he was average, but still had a better output than Mane, who everyone was creaming over. We need a bit of perspective here. He hasn't yet developed as we had hoped, but there is a lot of mitigation in there, including injuries, change of managers, being pushed from one position to another, disappointment of the Euros, being racially abused, being overplayed etc.
Hopefully with a new manager and a decent rest, he will bit injury free, fully fit and raring to go. I'd also hope that going into the new season we have a squad that can be rotated and allow him to be better rested moving forwards. He has never been the same player since the back injury and I have doubts that he ever will be, but he deserves another season for me.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The injuries most certainly haven't helped his cause and have probably impacted his confidence in his body. He's an athletic player who is reliant on those attributes, so back & shoulder problems are sure to at the very least make him a little hesitant in his movements, in physical duals & so on.
But we should also remember that some of his general play prior to those injuries was still leaving a lot to be desired, even if when his output in terms of numbers was looking impressive.
I think he needs some coaching & refining from someone who has a clear idea about what sort of player he could be. I've always felt he had the attributes to be our version of Son. Rashford's probably a little more naturally gifted than Son, but he's not as good a player overall - certainly not at the moment. Hopefully with more time since the injuries and a new face in ETH to help him, we can start to see him develop as a player in the way he clearly has the potential to.
The longer we go on pretending that Rashford and Martial are top players the longer we'll be waiting for consistent success. They are both good PL players who are a dime a dozen in the league.

I think that Arsenal were reported to be interested in Rashford.
Rashford has been reported on as a target for Barcelona and PSG over the last couple of years. Naturally, we can't assume media gossip is true. However, both clubs have brought in players who have been more sneered at than Rashford in England (Choupo-Moting, Depay spring to mind). And the fact that domestic media in France / Spain regarded Rashford as a credible target also gives some perspective as to how he is perceived abroad.
Maybe Rashford will never get back to the output we saw from him 2-3 years ago. But the short memories and cynicism of many of our fans never fails to disappoint.

Yeh, it is quite annoying. Some of our fans slate the lad, whilst overlooking the fact that he kept on making himself available at a a time when Pogba was choosing when he had operations, Martial was consistently injured, Cavani was always fit for his country but often unavailable for club etc. To his own detriment, the lad kept on going for the club, despite the fact he obviously wasn't fully fit and had been brought back from his injuries too soon.
The sooner he moves to Everton and turns up 1 in 5 the better for everyone.
