CR7 is taking Man Utd for mugs now. he doesnt give one fook about the club at all.
Looking to jump ship to any team that can afford him and in Champ league.
Ideal - Nkunku
Realistic - Antony

I rate CR7 as a footballer and his dedication to being the best
but I never got the idolisation some fans showed to a player who once he became great left when utd was only 2nd to Barca in the world to pursue his own dreams .

Nah united just don’t match his ambition. Simple as that. The club doesn’t want to win or have enough ambition anymore. He’s a serial winner amongst serial losers

You have a Ronaldo poster on your wall and wear a jersey with his name don’t you?

thanks. I missed that discussion
Glad to know I am not th only utd fan with the same thoughts
I think the article VC is referring to is this one by Dan:
https://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/446181
I said the other day that Broja didn't particularly impress me last season and I'll stand by that. Awkward on the ball and a less than stellar goal scoring record. Stay well clear is my opinion
*correction, I saw that discusion
I like Toney a lot too. He seem to do everything at a good level and is also hardworking and appears so sharp I fancy him to react quickest too any opportunity in the box
He is probably my safe signing while Broja would be wildcard signing
Broja could become the next Diego Costa. Would deal with Chelsea for him. Toney is not worth more than 30 million and would cost 50 million.
As far as Broja goes, I think there is something about him that intrigues me. Probably the fact he can move so fast for a big guy. Even his awkwardness on the ball you mentioned is something that actually helped some attacking players like lukaku/origi cos it makes them so unpredictable for defenders
it is a transfer that probably wouldn't happen but I am intrigued to see how he develops
Has anyone actually seen that much of Broja? Had that purple patch last season which included the game against us where he was very good, but I feel like people are basing opinions solely on that.
Left field suggestion - I've heard a lot of good things about Hugo Ekitike, the bloke Newcastle have been after. Still very young and probably very raw, but I get the feeling ETH is the type of manager who doesn't mind that.
Seen Dybala's name being thrown about recently too. Not sure he could function in the lone number 9 role but again, I think ETH could work with it.
just checked their stats
Toney scored 13 in35 games all comp
Broja scored 9 in 38
make of that what you will
my take is neither are prolific scorers "yet". Toney is currently better but given he is in his peak years thats not unexpected.
should have been all over Adeyemi like shat to a blanket.
jonathan david would have been a good option too but he is being linked to bayern.

Admiedly I saw Broja during his purple patch. Watched a few games after he desroyed maguire. I did not even realise his purple patch was short until last week
There are certain skillsets that as a fan I see in players and think with the right coaching/environment he "could" be a star. I have been wrong more than I have been right afterall potential is not always fulfilled. But i trust my instinct as I have been right a lot too
The Athletic have just published an article asking the same question as the OP.
Mentions the following, in different categories:
Obvious replacements (players ready to lead the line but would cost a lot) - Victor Osimhen, Tammy Abraham
Short-term fix: Jamie Vardy
Do a deal with Chelsea: Armando Broja (seen as a player with a high ceiling but a back-up option for next season), Calum Hudson-Odoi (obviously not a CF)
Wild card options: Robert Lewandowski (hard to convince him to reject Barcelona), Antony (already a target - implying a more fluid front line rather than fixed central point of attack).
Nice problem scenario (talented player who would need the team built around him): Paulo Dybala.

I think we were in for Adeyemi but he chose Dortmund. Understandably I guess, although he may not play as much as he initially thought with Haller going there too.

remember chelsea are a club that historically demand instant top performance
they let the likes of lukaku, kdb and even salah go
Broja is a potential /wip while chelsea demand success now. The sensible thing for chelsea to do will be to loan him out. But if reports are true and the americans want CR7, then we can use that to our advantage imo
