And I thought Coleen hated living over there?
I saw this a few minutes ago and told a work colleague, his excellent reply:
'Maybe they just have a higher quality of grandmothers over there'
This American 'link' keeps replaying - there was definitely something in the fact that American Kirchner could not take over and Rooney quit DCFC.
Now, back to the USA.
If this turns out to be true and he does join DC United, it feels like he'll be jeopardizing future roles in the PL.

Some will argue with me but about 1 good game in ten is about the best you'll get from him.
Lazy and hot tempered. Sent off a few times.
My son likes him, but then he knows nowt.

if he is a lazy, hot tempered , inconsistent, drunk why was he made captain?
i find it hard to believe that a player who averages a goal every three games is a 1 in 10 player?
To try and get something out of him.
Think you had about 4 decent games last season.
You'll see for yourself don't worry.

thats doesnt answer my question , if he averages a goal every 3 games then how does that equate to a 1 in 10 player.
also if he is a if he is a lazy, hot tempered , inconsistent, drunk why has he been one of the first picks for your team for the last 5 years

can you not answer the questions though? there must be reasons behind them?
Some people loved him, but sometimes he just seemed like a spoilt petulant brat.
Just the way he was.
Good luck with him
I see that Wilshere has retired at aged 30,
He is much travelled during his career, without really achieving. Shame that.
His highlight reel is pretty good but can't say i watch Derby so going mainly off reports and youtube.
Scores goals and has decent flair. Will help against packed defences we face, i expect he will start the season on the bench anyway.
Rushworth, the Brighton keeper linked with the Rams, is now signing for Lincoln City.
whodunnit, you will find that there are some Derby fans who took against Lawrence and who will resolutely refuse to see any good in him. He isn't a typical fans favourite but every single Derby manager he played under rated him highly and I don't think any of them ever left him out of the first team.
More balanced fans will tell you that he is inconsistent and that he can score brilliant goals but also make poor choices at the crucial moment. His shooting is very variable and he seems to scuff a lot of shots, even with the dead ball.
Others will scoff at this but I think he is a brave player in that he isn't afraid to try something that might lead to a goal but will look terrible if it doesn't come off. Most managers prefer this in their attacking players to taking the safe option and that's why he was always picked, because he has that potential threat. He would be the most likely player to get us a goal out of nothing.
He has had issues off the field with family bereavement and problems with alcohol and fans either sympathise with or deride him for, according to preference. In the very well publicised drink driving affair I thought at the time he ought to be sacked, and maybe he should have been, but he was too valuable a commodity for that. I thought he got his head down and did well for us after that but some won't ever forgive him which is understandable.
He has the skill to do well for Rangers. Whether he has the temperament or not I will be interested to find out.

cheers bud that was the sorta answer I was looking for.
playing for us can be a weird one, some players raise their game others crumble. there is a pressure playing for us that isnt seen at too many clubs. And pressure can create diamonds or cracks pipes.
Hopefully his skill set and type of player can be useful for a team that dominates the ball in 90% of our games and much of it can be played in the oppositions final third.
Hopefully the demands at our club will help him focus
