Maddison for a good deal I'd be happy with but not sure ges a creative passer we could do with, but as an attacking mid who can contribute to goals especially long range out of the blue he's great. Good for the 352 option just would he be up for fighting for his place.

For me Maddison’s issue is that he can blow hot and cold but towards the tail end of last season he was outstanding and would fulfil the HG quota. Paqueta from Lyon has been mentioned in relation to us a fair bit, but apparently Lyon are asking for an exorbitant amount of money for him. I think the problem with this position is that there isn’t all that much out there on the market and the most of the actual decent players are beyond unattainable like KDB.

My assumption with Eriksen is that we had talks, but he wanted more than we were prepared to offer - if not in money terms then at least in ‘guaranteed playing time’ terms.
We need a great creative midfielder as an ‘option’ so convincing one to join when they know they aren’t guaranteed to play is tricky.
If Maddison is gettable then we should go get him.
Eriksen is an odd one because he was an answer that was staring us in the face. If he didn't want to come and we tried then fair enough, that's his choice (strange if he was ambitious enough to leave Brentford, but not to want to have CL football). Oh well either way my affection for him has died now.
Maddison is a better option if we can get him anyway.
I can only assume eriksen went for the money because if conte wants an attacking midfielder there are few inthe world better and he would have had no transfer fee.
For this reason I do not believe conte does want an attacking midfielder. If he did it would have been a priority as we do not have one at all.
Maddison makes sense because he is a forward that can play number 8 so gives us options
We should put a cheeky bid in for Szoboszlai from Leipzig , only 22 and looks a real talent.

Yeah great player. Really rate him, but Leipzig are more intransigent with transfers than even Levy is.
Definitely need someone to take freekicks etc, been lacking for a while, keep Kane away
Not sure about Maddison abit unreliable at times
Reckon we’ll go after Çalhanoğlu. Had a few links to him at start of the window
Think United blew us out the water with contract for Eriksen …..we could probably match whatever it was but obviously deemed not worth it
I’m disappointed to be honest ….it had a real feel good factor around him coming back but it’s his last big contract so can’t blame him going for the money if that’s the case
Could be he just fancied a bash at another premier league club….again don’t blame him
Just felt him coming back fitted nicely but hey ho
Maddison importantly is a homegrown player and we need to keep our HG quota up.
I don't know about anyone else but I don't want to see the team become just a bunch of foreigners. I used to have a go at Arsenal and Chelsea for this.

It's not like he wouldn't be paid well here. I think he just fancied a different challenge with new surroundings and new people. He's already been at Spurs and he must have felt his time here came to a natural end. It's sad in a way because now he's playing for a rival team and will lose some if not all of that love our fans had for him.
Apparently we didn't even make a serious offer - I don't think he was on our radar for some reason

How many will start is another matter though. You could have a few games with just 1 or 2 starting. I hope Skipp still gets a fair look in.

Yeah your last sentence bothers me the most
The cheers and ovation he got when he returned with Brentford was great
That will be replaced with boos unfortunately…..likely anyway

Not for me. I’ll always love Eriksen. One of my favourite ever Spurs players.
Anyone who boos Eriksen is a pleb
Why are people talking about a creative midfielder?
We play 3-4-3…. This system doesnt allow for such like.
The wingbacks, if they do their roles correctly should provide this.
Fully expect Perisic to provide this, anyway.
Not sure about the right side.., Moura is playing RWB today… should be interesting!
In the ACM Creative Mid position Reyna from Dortmund is also a good shout.
