The chairman of Lille (name him without Googling if you can) appeared on Jim White's talksport show completely out of the blue, gave exact details of his club's offer to another club for one of their players, and then disappeared over the horizon never to be seen again. Brilliant🤣🤣🤣
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you expect the Lille Chairman to be on Question Time every week? Or should he be on SuperScoreboard? How often do you expect to see a chairman of Lille and how often do you think he should repeat that he tried to buy Morelos? Do you actually think about any of this stuff you say?
About the £4.8m you keep ignoring?

What the Bassey transfer shows is just how important it is for our club to do well in Europe
There ain't no way Bassey would have went for this kind of money if we hadn't just made the Europa League final
Your Jota's and Anthony Ralston's of this world will go for peanuts if Celtic continue to get scudded in Europe this season, as they did last season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nonsense. Patterson went for £15m five months prior having played less than 30 games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s truly wonderful how the figures go up and down to suit an argument 😂😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And there is no comparison with Jota and Patterson!
One went the EPL in a mega bucks deal and the other went Celtic because they were the only club interested in him!
Not even a league 1 team was interested in him which was surprising given the world class Paddy Roberts was playing there last year!

Patterson deal was £12m up front rising to £16m.
If he had seen the season out and played in the Europa run he might have gone for £19m riding to £23m like Bassey is reported to be going for.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would he have taken the penalties?

Not sure why you're arguing.
Tierney went for more despite being constantly embarrassed in Europe.
The point is clearly daft.
Jesus wept. What a tiresome 3 pages of utter drivel.
I can’t think of a Celtic fan that hasn’t been impressed with this latest transfer fee. That on top of the one or two others makes heady reading and the run in Europe over the last 2 seasons were no doubt the main factor in these valuations. They sure as hell weren’t bought because Rangers won the league the season before last.
And again, all this 💩 polishing about who said what. When the statements were made, they were correct at that time. Everyone on here makes predictions which turn out later to be wrong. We’ve even got a competition on here to do exactly that ffs.
As for the “trading model”; it was a plan that was meant to be in place nearly 6 years ago ffs; probably a bit earlier than the time when Celtic’s house of cards was meant to fall. How did those predictions go?
The model depends entirely upon selling at decent profit. No doubt that’s starting to happen. It also depends on getting decent replacements to do the same job as those sold to a better standard unless you don’t want to win the league.
We’re nowhere near knowing if the model is fully functional and working to plan and we won’t know for at least a year, but likely two or more.
Yet now it’s in place and working? How’s that for predictions.
You’ve a massive qualifier for Europe in a few short weeks. Let’s wait and see how the model is at that time and for the rest of the season.
Predictions eh?

You don’t think being a stand out performer in an extended European run will result in greater exposure and an enhanced reputation as a player?
And you seriously don’t think that could enhance his value?
Bassey only established himself in the first team at Rangers last season. Do you seriously think we would have got £20m+ for him now without stand out displays against teams like Dortmund or the final vs Frankfurt?
You are welcome to your opinion but it seems to fly in the face of logic to me.
I seriously think the Euro run has taken Bassey from potentially Patterson money after a stand out domestic season to the level we are now looking at.

Patterson deal was £12m up front rising to £16m.
If he had seen the season out and played in the Europa run he might have gone for £19m riding to £23m like Bassey is reported to be going for.

Would he have taken the penalties?

What the Bassey transfer shows is just how important it is for our club to do well in Europe
There ain't no way Bassey would have went for this kind of money if we hadn't just made the Europa League final
Your Jota's and Anthony Ralston's of this world will go for peanuts if Celtic continue to get scudded in Europe this season, as they did last season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nonsense. Patterson went for £15m five months prior having played less than 30 games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s truly wonderful how the figures go up and down to suit an argument 😂😂

Not sure why you're arguing.
Tierney went for more despite being constantly embarrassed in Europe.
The point is clearly daft.
