I've seen a few think Davies will be a good signing, i've never seen him play so i've no idea. On Mooy i'm basing it on his PL career which was pretty good, no idea how he's done since.
On Kent/Morelos i've not given up on new deals, maybe this releases a few extra quid to give them but i get the feeling both want a move. I'd rather take reduced fees and re-invest than lose them for nothing but no interest seems forthcoming yet. Still early days transfer wise though.

There's football to talk about. Signings, Champions League draw today, Celtic's leaky defence, our riches we can do Ginger is a whank another day ffs.

I am happy to talk about football.
But if I am told by some clown I have never met that the most important thing in my life is point scoring on an anonymous football forum then more often than not I will stand up for myself.
Case closed - agreed - lets move on.

Agreed.
As has been stated. Case closed. Move on
I think the main concern about Davies was his physicality more than anything else.
Think he is 6' 1" and not massively built. CCV isnt tall but hes built like a brick outhouse so to some extent his physicality can compensate for his size.
He is supposed to be a very good player though. Liverpool wouldnt have taken him - even as emergency cover - if he didnt have something about him.
I would hope another young 'project' LB comes in as well.
AS Monaco, Sturm Graz, Union Saint-Gilloise and the winners of Midgetland/AEK Larnaca await us in todays draw.
Avoid Monaco and we are favourites. Would pick the Midgets if possible.
Monaco have been spending big. Would be a proper toughie to get them.
Especially with Morelos still some way off being fit and Roofe perma-struggling.
You’ll get Larnaca.
Easiest draw and a wee holiday for the fans.
Hope you get Monaco obviously
Would like us to be getting a couple young players from England with their route to the first team blocked. Great value to be extracted from those types if they are a success.
Still hoping we've got a few quid for a creative midfielder but no links on that front so maybe he thinks we are fine in midfield. I'm not convinced.

Theres loads of them.
I saw Tariq Lamptey play against Rangers for Chelsea kids at Auchenhowie maybe 3 years ago now. He was never going to get a first team game at Chelsea but he stood out a country mile.
He left and was being linked with Bayern etc after about 6 months at Brighton.

Hey..I'm the boss of you. Don't you be jumping ship now. Enjoy your day.
2/3 Aug and 9/10 Aug.
Missed the friendly v Blackpool but we must have been sharper than we were v Sunderland. Two higher profile games this week i think should have us ready.

Total longshot but that Chukuwemeka, he's one of a few young boys at Villa that look hugely talented. I did see they wanted 20m for him in the last year of his deal, we could take him on a pre-contract for pennies in Jan.
Would be great to nick one or two of them with the promise of first team football. Sell them down the road in a couple of seasons for big bucks.

We have looked a bit laborious in the forward areas. It will take a wee while for the new guys to settle and gel but we dont really have time.
Kent just seems intent on running into people a lot.

It would likely be the wages that would be the major barrier to taking EPL players.
The bubble many kept thinking one day would burst, is just getting bigger all the time.
I've come to the conclusion Kent is a much better player on the counter. Huge for us in Europe though.
As for PL players, the younger ones are on good money but not the kind that would stop us signing them if we had high hopes for turning them into profit.
