----------------------------------------------------------------------
His teams usually go out in the group stages.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Indeed, people seem to be missing that. We also went out in the group stage of the Farmers league last year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like that was his fault
For a manager of great repute, he has actually been in the UCL quite little. This will be his 6th year i believe. Hes never failed to qualify in his time at Juve Chelsea Inter and Spurs
Juve 11/12 - joined after the came 7th, so no Europe
Juve 12/13 - Won their group, lost to Bayern in QFs
Juve 13/14 - 3rd in their group. Lost in Europa SF
Chelsea 16/17 - CFC had come 10th so no Europe
Chelsea 17/18 - 2nd in group. Lost to Barca in r/o 16
Inter Milan 19/20 - 3rd in UCL Group. Lost Europa Final
Inter 20/21 - 4th in UCL Group.
Spurs 21/22 - No UCL, joined mid season.
So really, in the 7, nearly 8 seasons he's spent at a top club, 5 have been in the UCL

Notice how we play all the tougher sides away from home around the CL matches?
But yeah, there's no conspiracy against us
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If I said that, I would get half a dozen people saying "idiot, let's string that Stevef up by his toes within 20 minutes of me posting it.
That said, it will come as no surprise that I agree with the comment. The FA, or whoever agrees the fixtures schedule, should be helping all English teams in Europe, but sadly this will, as usual only apply to certain clubs.
While we are on the subject, does anyone want to bet that City, Liverpool and Chelsea, once again, all avoid each other in the domestic cup draws, at least until the semi's, when they have to play each other ??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Minor point but I would have referred to you as KarenF.

Let’s be honest, the club put up zero fight with UEFA about that match - all we wanted to ensure was that we weren’t penalised further for it. I bet we were quite happy to be out of it and I’m hindsight it looks a good decision

Spurs have nothing for ages so are we to expect us to win nothing again.
Things change. Klopp lost 5 or 6 finals in a row, Liverpool didnt win the league for 30 years, SAF struggled in Europe for years.
Contes first full season. Not sure we can expect to go full tilt in everything. No doubt his brief and the expectation will be to get us through the group and go from there. How we approach from then on may be determined by many things - league position, form & fitness, other cup comps.
Last season he had 2 ECL games. Won one, his first game at Spurs and lost at Mura, a dark day but still v.
early stages in his Spurs career when you'd forgive him for seeing it as a lowest priority (and he'd only been there 3 week!)
Conte is poor in Europe. It’s not really a debate.
Conte has always given short shrift to the CL, if you watch some of his old press conferences he can barely muster up any interest in it. Even in his first season at Inter the basically got to the Europa final by accident (slight exaggeration of course but not all that far off). The Italian is all about the league so don’t be surprised if we have a poor CL campaign.

I'm expecting 5 or 6 player to be rotated when we have 3 games a week, so it will probably have a negative affect on midweek results, but with the squad he is assembling at the moment who knows?

With hundreds of teams entering the two competitions, this is not a smart bet for anyone to take as the likelihood that 4 out of hundreds of teams will play each other is rather minute.

I always think its fairer for the CL sides to play each other in the CL weeks anyway, rather than a midtable side in good form who have a week's rest.

Well, I must admit I do like a moan every now and then, although nobody is going to change my mind about the Media. I mean, are you happy that they are, for the third season running, selling Kane off to someone. This time Bayern. That "story" came about because some useless journo went out of his way to ask a very loaded question of the Bayern manager, simply to create a story. Trouble is, it is once again picking up traction.
Tell you what though, I can be as gracious as the next guy, So if City, Liverpool or Chelsea draw each other in, say, the 3rd, 4th or 5th rounds of this coming season's FA cup, I will come on here and publically apologies, and maybe, just maybe concede the balls might not be heated after all.
Can't say fairer than that.
The Group Stages have to be wrapped up by the beginning of November.
Law of averages means that the 4 English clubs are likely to meet 1 or more of their rivals either just before or just after a CL game.

Notice how we play all the tougher sides away from home around the CL matches?
But yeah, there's no conspiracy against us

You were bothered enough to respond.
Serious question, do you 100% believe that there is a conspiracy or agenda against Spurs in particular, by either the FA, UEFA or the media?

I can't speak for his time at Chelsea, but the criticism of Conte in Italy was that his aggressive training methods made it difficult for Juve to make significant CL progress, particularly in the latter stages as they were just too wiped out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His teams usually go out in the group stages.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Indeed, people seem to be missing that. We also went out in the group stage of the Farmers league last year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Had we been allowed to play our last group game I think we'd have got through but we certainly made a meal of it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Let’s be honest, the club put up zero fight with UEFA about that match - all we wanted to ensure was that we weren’t penalised further for it. I bet we were quite happy to be out of it and I’m hindsight it looks a good decision

Yes I wasn't happy at the time but had we gone deeper into that competition I doubt we would have qualified for the cl.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
So out of 5 UCL campaigns:
1 QF
1 Rd 16
3 group exits
So what your telling me is what I have already said, he mostly flames out in the group stage.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs have nothing for ages so are we to expect us to win nothing again.
