Manager needs to take a lot of the blame. Tactics were hopeless, subs too late.

I would hope to see a raft of changes for the weekend and next week.

Still think we can get back in it. The two goals were shambolic for different reasons but they are going to be a tough nut to crack, if we concede at home we will be fooked.

McGregor, Yilmaz, Davies, Davis, Kent, and Morelos should all be in now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The players that looked most off it tonight were Matondo and Jack, two who haven’t kicked a ball. Davies and Yilmaz are musts but you don’t want to throw players in that many that haven’t played any time.

And no need for McGregor at all. Mad reactionary that when McLaughlin wasn’t at fault, if you give someone space from 10 yards out to fire a shot like that it’s obv nothing to do with keeper. Never mind how bad McGregor’s passing and command of area/coming off line is against a team that’ll play on counter next week.

That really was awful last night

I don't know what Gio sees in Sands coz I just don't see it at all.

If we had tried and failed to beat players, play killer passes into the box, or have pops from distance, I'd be a bit more forgiving for that result last night....but we did next to nothing in an attacking sense last night, didn't play balls to players in space when they were there to be played, don't think we beat a man down the wing all night, don't think Colak got a touch in the box on his head let alone to feet

Just woeful all round....too busy passing it left to right in defence and going absolutely nowhere

Terrible performance last night. It could have been worse so the small crumb of comfort is that we are still in the tie.

Unlucky to concede the penalty which clearly contradicts the current rules. And its not like the rules are particularly ambiguous - they were updated to account for exactly the type of situation we saw last night.

Either way we deserved to lose and its down to us to turn it around next week. Very difficult but not impossible.

Has anyone in our country ever turned over a 2-0 first leg defeat before to progress?

No doubt it was poor but not a huge surprise with so many injuries and new players. The tactics made sense but the players were simply awful and theirs seemed energised by their new found success. Only half time even if no Scottish team has ever recovered a 0-2 tie in Europe - that was under away goals so the pressure is less now.

We came very close with Artmedia. Rangers once turned around 0-3 but within the same game i.e. it wasn't the tie result.

Rangers need a decent keeper.
Jack and Lundstrum were pash, tippy tappy passes doing nowt.
Front three were anonymous.
Most threat from Rangers came from Wright.

That team looked dung in the first 20 mins, they seemed to get more confident as time passed.

Rangers 3-1 at Ibrox, ET, penalties.

Think we beat Cologne 3-0 after losing 2-0 in Germany back in the 90’s.

It will be interesting to see how they cope with coming to Ibrox.

Better teams than them have crumbled.

"Better teams than them have crumbled"
That's very true and the Bears must hope that is the case again.
However, that was a particularly, spineless, gutless, inept performance last night.

tactics rotten, shouldnt have tried to match them up with the 3 at the back. Its their proffered formation and you could see it. collectively the pressed better and countered better.

Players were rotten, first half it looked like Tillman trying to do it all on his own.

Colak is hopeless in europe for us (especially away from home) making "$hitebag runs" that will never help the team..... running a channel when you know there wont be anything coming .... refusing to be the focal point and take a hit from the defender to get the team further up. he looks like a poacher he will score goals domestically but in europe wont be that great IMO, miss Alfie big time.

Which makes it even more ironic that he caught the eye playing in Europe against us

Think Karagandy was 0-2 in first leg where we went through, sporting lisbon was also 0-2 and we went through - think a few Scottish teams have done it but according to others rangers never have ?

posted on 3/8/22

I think that result last night sees Rangers out.

As ever etc etc

posted on 3/8/22

Still think Rangers will sneak through next week in a Karagandy esque fashion. This mob have players in the team signed from Crawley and Portsmouth ffs. I think if they would have got a deserved third goal last night it may have killed it but rangers will more than fancy their chances at home given how many early goals they scored in Europe last season. Still nice to see alot of angry bears though stewing on this for days

I agree I think we will still do enough at home to go through but the remark about where the players previously played means not a lot.

Its where they are playing now that counts.

A high number of celtic fans on here have O'riley down for POTY
