At least you haven’t pizzed a fortune up the wall so far this summer. I actually think you are taking the right approach for once - taking a step back to see how ETH gets on and give him time to fully assess the squad

The problem is this is not an approach taken on purpose, just a result of our incompetency in identifying and bringing the right players. For this I also blame the manager as it looks like his scope for identifying talent is very limited and is incapable of knowing the players he needs unless they work with him for years.

Rdd daily transfer article #34

I'm disappointed not to be starting the season with a new CM and forward.

I'm hopeful we get two more signings over the line.

I'm enthused by the way ETH talks about getting only the right players. The proof is in the pudding though.

I'm excited about our 3 signings, our new manager and some of the glimpses we saw in pre-season.

Yeah this is all true for me too in spite of my negativity. If Eriksen can stay fit and healthy, we've got a top player there. The other two, my knowledge is severely lacking but Malacia seemed to get better with every game in preseason and Martinez looked very good in the one outing I saw him in. So promising signs.

It's really disappointing that we haven't complete changed the entire starting XI and a good few others and got in loads of world class players instead.

I thought we strenthened a lot personally to what we had before. Martial coming back helps massively as well.

I saw a brief video of ETH at training. I like his militant style.

Culture, discipline and consistency has been our problem. We do need a much better midfield but I’ll be happy with an improvement in the culture and actually have an active style of play.

I don’t see how you can say that Martial helps massively, unless you mean that we’re short up top

The biggest plus point was getting rid of that sub par keeper Henderson.

It's great having one of the world's best keepers in our goal isn't it?

Strengthened. Henderson didn’t play last season so we weakened massively our goalkeeper choice but as he never was gonna play due to De Gea wages it is basically the same as last season.

I think ETH can do a Pep and make goalkeeper use required less so having a below average keeper won’t stop us winning games. Even Ederson is much better than De Gea and he is a lot worse than Alisson.

Yup DDG is incredible, we are so lucky to have him

So glad we got rid of that awful keeper Henderson. One of the worst I’ve ever seen

posted on 5/8/22

Yes De Gea is incredible. In last 8 league away games we conceded 20 goals from an XG of 13.6 while Lloris conceded 7 goals from an XG of 11.99.

De Gea was by far the worst goalkeeper for last 4 months of last season in away games. He had worse than Kepa when he was rubbish stats.

posted on 5/8/22

Henderson went unbeaten the season before mainly playing the away games and De Gea played mainly the home games and we conceded 28 goals from 68 shots on target. I believe De Gea has worst ever premierleague record in home and away games ever recorded by a Man Utd goalkeeper in last 2 seasons.

Nonsense. Firstly it Maguire was in front of him. And secondly ddg was actually injured so it was Henderson wearing a DDG mask (ralf knew that opposition attackers were scared of ddg, but laughed at useless Hendo so made Hendo put on a DDG mask).

If we swapped De Gea for Lloris Spurs would have finished 6th and Man Utd 4th.

I know there are a lot of negative articles but it is genuinely hard to believe that we're going into the season expecting McFred to start and wondering how we will deal with the loss of Martial. If we'd have been told that in May, nobody on here would even have believed it, let alone been OK with it.

I do think we will make at least one more signing but that it'll probably be a forward like Šeško who's unproven and maybe not quite there yet. I've given up on De Jong and haven't heard about any Plan B in midfield.

I honestly never seen such poor stats by a goalkeeper. His stats were worse than Kepa at his worst last season De Gea. Then he was getting praised lol.

Neville thought De Gea was great amd having to stop shot after shot at OT at the time when Man Utd were ranked 1st over a 3 game period for XG against the best ever period of XG against in the premierleague era for Man Utd lol and we had most expected points over that period.

That is when you know De Gea is rubbish lol, he was conceding goals for fun when we were ranked 1st.

I think our XG under Rangnick was something like 25 for and 10 against in first few months of his reign yet we conceded like 20 goals and scored like 10 lol. Even Rangnick never seen anything like it in his whole career. He even used to say opposition need 1 chance and score and we need like 10 to score.

If you’d watched Henderson then you will have. We’d be better putting a traffic cone on goal.

posted on 5/8/22

I think under Rangnick we had like 30 one on ones and scored like 3 and conceded like 10 one on ones and conceded 9 goals. Then last 2 months of the season basically after we lost to Arsenal another game we should have won but De Gea being rubbish and officials and our finishing cost us another easy win we gave up.

Honestly think we will concede 40 goals this season at least but we will be like top 3 best shots on target against. If we had Henderson in goal I think we would concede high 20’s to low 30’s.
