Minus 1 from me. We’re DOOOOOOOMED.
Not just talk of 6th, I’ve seen people saying we’ll be 7th/8th.
I'm very optimistic, I like our new manager and signings, and think Erik will improve some others.
Cautiously optimistic.
We should see better performances at the very least. Maybe a cup run and that'll do for this season. Obviously want top four but no idea if we'll get there.
I am excited to get the feeling back of being excited to go to OT and watch us play! Is that too much to ask for at this early stage of the ETH era?
Think we'll be 6th again. But I'm a pessimist.

This is exactly what I'm thinking. I guess what prompted me to post this article was reading a lot of opinions that are totally different to ours. I suppose though many of us were very optimistic this time last year, but it's a new start so we'll see
Maybe a decent cup run or two, see a lot of progress with the style of and cohesion in the play, see some of the youngsters developing, finish fifth.
I’m calling that a positive outlook, because I think that’d be a very good start for the ETH project.
The season to really start giving a shiiit about challenging for honours is 2024/25 provided the trajectory is right between now and summer 2024.
Jose: “It is omelettes and eggs. No eggs – no omelettes! It depends on the quality of the eggs. In the supermarket you have class one, two or class three eggs and some are more expensive than others and some give you better omelettes. So when the class one eggs are in Waitrose and you cannot go there, you have a problem”. So considering we signed players from a farmer league to sort out our problems, it is a 1 or may be 2.

I actually think that's a fair shout... As things stand
We've nothing in attack if we get a couple of injuries, and Rashford Sancho and Martial aren't exactly iron man... Kids who are nowhere near ready won't get us top 6 or 4.
Midfield was a big issue but if Garner can be solid, Eriksen have an impact... We can probably get by
But there's no way we'll get anywhere should we be needing Elanga or Amad to start regularly, they aren't ready... And it's not a stretch to be in that position
But that's as things stand...
1 or 2 signings changes a lot... And the more I hear ETH, the more I believe in him
Will start well, tail off towards the end, tough second season and Hag will be sacked. Poch will come in. Rinse and repeat. Cheers for the tip UWW

Scrapping for 5th/6th with Arsenal
I’m generally an optimistic person but I really have zero expectation for this season. I’ve never felt this disinterested about the start of a new season. I’ll be excited at 5 to 2 on Sunday but I don’t think we’ll be up to much for a while yet.
Please prove me wrong lads!
Are there any optimists here?
I think we'll probably finish 6th as things stand. Though I think giving 2 stars is a little harsh as I think we'll play much better football and my God we've waited a long time for that.

one of my favourites!
We’ve lost depth in attack but the Cavani we lost last year was barely there, Mata never featured, Lingard was behind Elanga in the pecking order, Greenwood was unavailable for most. Replacing those with minutes for the youngsters I don’t see making that much difference, I still think we’ll add another attacker too. And we will use Bruno sometimes in the front 3 now we have Eriksen.
Our current squad if they gel under ETH and some proper management are more than capable of winning those games we fcked up last year against the bottom relegation candidates, that was about 12 extra points we could’ve had.
On top of that we only managed 4 points from the last 15 (I think?) when we had all but given up and players literally didn’t care. If that doesn’t happen again then there’s some more points.
I'd vote 1 but I think that's being too optimistic

Great reference
Why is there no minus option ?
Oh and I see our shirt sponsors have got feck all money as well, share price down 70% and apparently as everything else in the club it’s all Ronaldo’s fault
Rome wasnt built in a day. Not expecting a good season really. ETH has a lot of work to do and players are seemingly wary of joining us given we have no CL footy to offer.
I'd be happy with top 6 again but much better football on view. Anything better than that is a bonus. The teams above us are more settled and established and we are playing catch up. I don't think we will really see the true benefit of ETH until the second season tbh.
As things stand the only thing I am optimistic about is that we will play much better football.
If a few more players come in and go out by the end of the window then I might be optimistic for a bit more.

The club need to hold their nerve too if things start badly
Our fixtures aren't kind... We could well be bottom half by the end of October
We need to give him time
