Clean slate for Rodgers but boy he’s a total W&nket

Welcome back Dubs. We go again.

My understanding is that one of Fofana or Maddison will be offloaded before the season to find some changes and compliance with FFP. We wanted it to be Tielemans, Soyuncu and Soumare but those have clearly not happened. We’ll see.

What’s critical is we get off to a good start so the squad get a bit of confidence. I’m nervous that Rodgers hasn’t got them motivated and we’re a squad that’s not fully committed to the cause. Even just a couple of percent drop in performance hurts you in the Prem as Liverpool found out yesterday.

Let’s hope we have enough individual quality to get us through.

So frustrated so will keep this short.

Brentford did not look a good team today yet we threw away 3 points from a dominant position after they made a simple tactical switch we had no idea how to deal with.

KDH was great and his energy critical. When he came off, there was only one outcome.

Vardy remains isolated in this system. We may as well play with no strikers for a while until Rodgers sorts it out because we don’t give them any service.

The way todays game played out is worrying. After KDH scored I sat back and thought, glad I got this wrong and hopefully we can have a decent season. By the end of the game I was very worried again.

We need to sort our transfers out quickly. Get whatever is being done done and push on, because right now we look like a team who doesn’t really know what it is.

Have to agree with TB here. Rodgers seriously culpable taking off Dewsbury-Hall in the first place and second not replacing him with Praet. Maddison not at his sharpest could also have seen him replaced by Praet. But to not freshen up using some of your 5 subs when clearly the energy levels had dropped after 60 minutes is criminal. He always makes substitutions on 60 minutes. But not today. Not when it’s hot. Not when we’re getting overrun in midfield. He needs a slap.
