Damn, I've just said the same on Robbs thread. It looks like I've copied

The question is: why is he still here? Gross incompetence!

Ronaldo's united legacy has been severely tarnished!

It was daft of the club not to get rid as soon as he asked to leave. He was always going to be petulant about it and we don't need the media circus that comes with such a high profile player. There has been lots of rumours about how his attitude is having a negative impact on the squad and it seems now that these rumours are reality.

Another transfer window failing. Why wait until the end of the window to get rid if he wants out?

Just do it in June and save the window

Has anyone shown the slightest bit of interest in him though?

We could have done what Arteta did with the players he didn’t want anymore. Just bin them off. Let them go on a free transfer or even just agree to cancel the contract and let Ronaldo go adrift.

That is the problem isn't it? No-one actually wants him that he would likely want to leave for. Hopefully he agrees to terminating his contract.

"Just agree" makes it sound easier than it might be. Being denied an easier way out has made him a pariah of sorts. If his pride has been hurt, I wouldn't bank on him letting go that easily. If he does leave now, I reckon it's a lot more likely to be on his terms, if necessary perhaps even with United paying part of his salary. The club's only other choice could be to continue paying his presumably huge wages every week.

Agreed. Problem is we can't trust the manager to execute such a plan effectively. He seems very limited in identifying the right players so I wouldn't trust him in getting rid of players who shouldn't be in the team. There are reports we are ready to let Garner go, that kind of decision doesn't come from a manager who knows what he is doing.

Glazers want him to stay for financial reasons

I think the club should have terminated his contract as soon as he said he wanted to leave.

You can clearly see anything the squad had going for it morale wise during the tour has now gone.

Anthony… De Jong… Timber..
Would’ve been good signings. Rangnick, said get Luis Diaz and Alvarez. Nothing.

We know where the problem is. Sure Ten Hag is making mistakes in his baptism of fire, but we gotta let him work it out. He’s not stupid.
Personally, for a quick fix, cos these players cannot be trusted and lack quality, we go back to 4-2-3-1.

Screw it, even play McFred in the pivot, but we play on the counter. Everyone and their dog is coming at us.
Let Rashford - Martial (when fit) - and Sancho/Garnacho run riot on the counter.
We have to go pragmatic, to build the confidence.

Yes I know, it’s Ole Ball, but that’s what last worked with these idiots.

Joel Glazer supposedly blocking any transfer... While Murtough is apparently the one who decided Garner is getting sold

I wonder if the club are having money issues. Perhaps they hired Ten Hag as his supposedly breathtaking presentation included getting the best out of the existing players and not needing to spend a load.

Thank god it’s all Ronaldo’s fault and when he is gone these wonderful players of ours will suddenly be brilliant again, it’s all so simple or we can all get back to the comfy zone of blaming it all on McFred

Counter attack is the only real way we can play so your probably right, forget pressing and hoof it on the break

Think we're broke tbh

Saw a laughable post saying we'd upped the budget from 1 Mill to 7 million for a keeper to compete with Coco

Selling Garner to buy Rabiot

There's a shed load of midfielders that have moved for under 40 million that would have improved us

Clubs an absolute shambles, we're in deep shiiite this season

Exactly - on £450k per week (allegedly) why would he quit his contract?

Let’s hope so. Been a disaster signing.
