Should never have invited him back in August 21 and spent wisely on CM options to progress from finishing 2nd behind City. And yes, in front of Liverpool.

Seems a long time ago them days.

If Ronaldo is to be shown the door what about these guys?

Are we going to rely on Martial, Rashford & Sancho to make up those 24 goals? Did they even score that many between them last season?

Why this individual was brought back to this club remains a mystery.

Needs to be shipped out sharpish.

So?

What’s the point in getting rid of him now with no replacement in sight? So we can rely on those three? Rashford’s form is dire
Sancho is still yet to show anything like the Dortmund Sancho
Martial is another Pogba only not quite as talented

Because he doesn’t want to be at the club and his presence is detrimental to an already fragile dressing room.

This dressing room was a mess last year mate. Our form as it is goes much further back than the last two games.

The preseason games are completely irrelevant. True to form these players have shown their true colours yet again. It’s infectious at our club and that infection was here years before Ronaldo came back.

I think his goals were the highest point-gaining goals in the premier league last year and his CL goals.

If there was a signing available then I’d probably agree as I also don’t want anyone who doesn’t want to be there but I feel that him leaving without a decent replacement is a bigger detriment than his possible attitude with the other players.

Yeah he’s a big reason why the dressing room was a mess last season. He’s just acted like even more of a cuuuunt this season.

And the seasons before? Was he the problem then?

We’ve made the wrong signings, people with the wrong attitude and a serious lack of character time and time again plus we’ve not added enough quality.

Basically everything that could have gone wrong, has gone wrong for a long time with us.

Alleged he has been offered to Wolves now we are spending big again and the Chinese have allowed fosun to play again

The two seasons before we didn’t have the same fragile dressing room that we have now.

I disagree but let’s say you are right.

If a player moves to Manchester United and is paid £100k/£200k/£300k a week and cannot handle an egotistical petulant child like Ronaldo and still perform well, still work hard and put in performances, then they should not be at the club.

Fragile is the correct word for sure but that’s my point.

He would want to leave for his sanity. The club is dead. He doesn’t want to be here
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I still doubt that he will walk away from 450k a week unless he has a very decent contract lined up.

Hasn’t been a disaster tbh. It’s been a bad move for ronaldo. He chose a club that is dead. Big mistake. United as a major club is finished and that’s a fact. It’s only going down now. Will continue to slip down the table until the club is sold. Imho we won’t be a top 6 side again until glazers sell. Nobody wants to join.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He joined us as a top 2 team, leaves us as not good enough for top 6. Hmmm.

The seasons before we finished 3rd and then 2nd.

How can you possibly disagree? The confidence of the players is on the floor and has been for over a year.

Most of these players shouldn’t be at the club. But United need to try and rebuild a more harmonious dressing room, Ronaldo isn’t going to help with that.

There’s really no good argument for keeping him at this stage.

Pre-season without Ronaldo - good results
Season with Ronaldo - worse than ever

Maybe Ronaldo is the divisive factor

Last season I could understand (though didn't share) the argument that Ronaldo was a positive force. In my view he didn't add goals, but simply redistributed them away from other players, as he occupied a high % of the team's shots taken, and to a large extent the other members of the attack had to play for him, and were affected by the tactical and psychological gravity of having an immobile GOAT in the side. But he did score the goals.

Now, not only does Ronaldo want to leave, but he is reportedly very explicitly sulking in training and resisting the coach's pressing tactics. I struggle to understand anyone who advocates keeping him in those circumstances. Where does that leave the manager's authority? Where does that leave team morale?

Ronaldo will go. Nothing will change. We will still be garbage and still be hammered week in week out. That’s just the reality

We weren't hammered week in week out before he arrived.

Do you really think Ronaldo is why we’ve been hammered?

Not shaw & telles, not Maguire? Not McFred in midfield? Not AWB? Not Dalot? No De Gea errors and poor distribution?

I’m sure you’ll agree that all of those above were also causal factors but you’d say that Ronaldo was one also. If that’s the case, where would you rank those players in terms of culpability for getting hammered?

I couldn’t put a striker, even a 37 year old that doesn’t press, towards the top of such a list. My list would be:

Soft midfield
Defenders
De Gea errors
Ronaldo
