Interesting one this.
I'll be honest, I dont expect us to get anything out of this game, the gap between us and the top teams in this league is massive.
However, I think there are some interesting things here.
Rodrigo will be captain and from what marsch has said he basically sees him as our linchpin.
Which when you see how he has started the season is very understandable. I'm interested to see if he can keep his form going against one of the big clubs in the league.
Apart from that it's a real chance for the newer players to test themselves against a quality side.
Looking forward to this, but not expecting anything from it.
Also, how long we giving Gerrard after today?
Acid test. Are we as good as some think we are or will get shown up by a decent Chelsea side missing several key players? Think we'll draw or Chelsea will edge it 2-1.

Fans. Lots of fans giddy about our signings this season. Think we've looked decent since the Cagliari game, we'll see tomorrow if we are any good for real. At home, expecting to give Chelsea a tough afternoon
Start of the season is always a leveller, it will be a tough game.
Hoping for the best but this should be a proper test. If we are playing out from the back we'll get mugged good and proper. So banking on Meslier kicking long from the get go and we get lucky. I hope the ref is kind because this could get ugly. Another player or 2 in and we could hold our own against more than half the teams in this league but unfortunately this ain't one of them. Everything crossed

The stupidity of sending Cresswell out on loan could well hurt us, if Koch is out tomorrow. That said, Chelsea are without Kante and Kovacic, and this really suits our 4-2-2-2 formation. Harrison and Rodrigo are working really well together, and with Sinisterra ready to join the fray, I think we will ask a lot of questions through the middle.
A lot depends on the ability of Roca and Adams to stifle the Chelsea creative players. Once they get the ball out on the flanks, we are in trouble. Havertz, Mount and Sterling will ask questions.
The word on Bamford is that he is out after he strained his adductor playing Fortnite, but with four goals in two games and a decent Xg, I expect us to score. The question is, will Chelsea score more? I would settle for 1-1, but after seeing how fragile Chelsea are from set pieces, and with a passionate crowd behind us, I think we will win this with late goals from Aaranson and Sinisterra. Leeds to add to Chelsea’s blues, 3-1.

I presume you are talking about Temenuzhkov with this comment. I don't see it that way. We signed a player that didn't make it to the first team. It happens, the vast majority of Man City's U21/U23 squad will not make it as pros. Not a sign that the DOF or scouting system is failing.

Is Koch an injury doubt, had not heard that. If so presume Llorente switches to RCB and Struijk plays LCB. Who then plays LB. If true demonstrates need for cover at LB.

Hjelde I guess.
Not an easy game to predict,so I’ll play safe and say 2-2.
A part of me thinks that because Chelsea last week were done an injustice and denied a win then this week they will get that win back and even without last weeks controvosy Chelsea were always going to be odds on to beat us.... it is just a matter of by how many?
However football never fails to surprise us and if we can hold out in the first half and be clinical at the other end I'm hoping we can be this weeks surprise scoreline whereby we don't lose to a top 6 club.
A feisty 1-1 would be my best and most realistic expectation.
Koch was rumoured to be out yesterday. Wagner will make his full debut today hopefully.
