Alan Shearer is THE greatest striker the Prem has ever seen if you only apply numbers. To think he's not highly rated is to basically not know football. It really isn't all about trophies, no matter how much the media like to peddle that rubbish. It's dominated by Man U and Liverpool players. Of course they're going to say that.
OP, why aren't you supporting City yet? Seems to be what most of your glory-hunting contingent are doing, and by the logic of this article, it's a surprise you haven't already jumped ship too.
Yes, retiring as the highest goal scorer in premier league history would mean something and see him thought of extremely highly regardless of how many trophies he wins.
it would be a real shame if Harry Claim doesn't win a trophy tbf

Spurs are allergic to trophies though. They’ve spent about 1 billion on transfers since they last won one and still nothing

Kane has a better all around game than shearer did, but is inferior as an out an out striker finisher. Shearer was a goal machine, if I had to decide between the two, shearer would win.

I think your article's a steaming t⋃rd.
Lukaku won a trophy with Chelsea last season, but was absolutely dreadful.
Kane will go down as a premier league legend. Trophies or no trophies.
I guess it's more a personal thing than using it to determine whether or not he should be classed as a great.
Of course they will. He’ll go down as one of the very best to ever play in the league. He’ll be England’s leading goalscorer as well.

Will Jack Grealish be remembered more fondly now that he's a cog in the City trophy winning machine?
Was Gabriel Jesus rated more highly as a rotation option at City, or now at Arsenal where he's the main man?
If Arsenal continue to play good football this season but fail to win a trophy at the end, does that constitute a wasted season?
Looking at the number of Spurs baiting articles there have been in recent weeks I would suggest that Thurs cl draw is hanging heavy with our Arsenal chums.
When you haven't qualified its always the day that brings it home, owwwww it's a real killer. I feel their fans pain and I forgive them, all I can suggest is that they try finishing above us (for a change) this season.

Kane & Spurs needs some silverware desperately.
These are very difficult times to compete in though. The last 20 years has seen first United, then Chelsea and then City dominate, hoovering up almost every cup every season between them, with endless cash being the common denominator.
We are better placed to win stuff now but its still fecking difficult. You need a bit of luck, like Chelsea's FA cup draw last year or Liverpool's Champions League draw. That said we lost to Boro last season but do now have more strength in depth so should not slip up in matches like this in the future.
Besides, you can’t really talk legacy until his playing career is over.

They aren’t in Kane’s class, though. Kane should be leading the best teams in Europe to trophies. He wouldn’t be just a cog in any team.
A good example would be Benzema, he’s enhanced his reputation by leading Madrid to titles since Ronaldo has left.
Its all a bit meh isn't it?
If Kane had got his wish and been allowed to move to Man City last summer then he'd have a Premier League trophy in his locker but he wasnt and he hasnt.
