I find it hard to believe that we don’t have a better number 9 coming through the academy than Rashford. Or was Greenwood our generational academy talent this time and now we’ve got nothing.

Rashford isn't a number 9. He'd not be starting if Martial was fit or if ETH thought Ronaldo could cope up there from the start.

The main argument for not playing Ronaldo is that he can’t play the pressing game. But apart from Liverpool we’ve not played that way with the other 3!

We were instantly better in attack when he came on, although that wasn’t difficult to do after a woeful 70 mins of “attacking”, apart from the goal.

If we could dictate play and keep the ball better, then create chances for him, he’d be scoring 30 over the season. But we just don’t create anywhere near enough

We perhaps need to appreciate where we are as a team and a "finished project"?

Getting points on the board was imperative and necessary, now we need to see some improvement and better play, will it happen soon? I've no idea but we are where we are if honest

I agree but he was sometimes the solution to a problem he was a major part of.

If Martial is unavailable, and having Antony, who would be our best front 3? We’re still no better off centrally, with a whole season to go.

Ronaldo doesn’t have a future at the club either. Whilst we obviously need to plan for the short term, we have mid and long term goals that just don’t involve him. We needed to get rid of him and bring in a cf.
