Give it a rest. We would have lost thus game if it wasn't for him. Just enjoy the result, that's what mattered. Given the pitch, the opposition, the game situation, it was a fantastic knock.

Today is exactly why stokes is in the team. The pressure cooker situations where everyone else crumbles around him in the biggest matches. Silly his place was ever under question really.

Was a really good disciplined performance

I know Pak bowled well but we made a bit of meal of that.

Still great performance all round.

The teams that win big matches adapt better to the pitch. Neither adapted that well to be fair, but Pak batting was pretty dire, hardly any runs in the powerplay, some good running in the middle but lost wickets and a horror show at the end. Rashid and Curran bowled brilliantly.

Naseem and Haris bowled well for Pak and put pressure on, but 137 will always be chased unless you are bowled out.

Stokes and Buttler played well but should’ve put the game to bed earlier.

Whilst I agree that the big tournaments should be shared around more, it just sounds like you are just making excuses.

You shouldn't really need a pitch to suit you to win tournaments, your preparation and your players should be good enough to deal with the conditions better than the other teams. If you can't do that, you don't deserve to be champions.

However PTID, I'm never really sure if you are speaking seriously or are on the wind up, so if you are on the wind up, just ignore me

Alfridi injury was pretty pivotal. Although we can never know for certain. I think Pakistan may have won had he stayed fit. So ironic he did it taking a wonderful catch

Now Ben stokes will not make excuses of mental health. If form goes bad again then again will blame mental health probably. But we'll done England World Cup champions
