I'm expecting a 'stand down' e-mail from work at any time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What's that about, Diafol?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I work for the Civil Service in Wales and we did get an e-mail a month ago with the protocol if she dies. I suspect it'll be exactly the same we'll receive today if the news comes through she's died. We'll then have to delete all social media posts etc we've already scheduled.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's all here, it's been rehearsed over and over for 60 years.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_London_Bridge
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Does it say there that Diafol got an e-mail last month?
https://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/446678
Cheers Diafol, yeah, I vaguely remember reading about OLB a few months ago in The Guardian, just wasn't sure what your part in it might be. I thought maybe the 'stand down' order might be because you're a sleeper cell for the Welsh Independence Army.
Doesn’t look good. Long live Her Maj.
I find the live text a bit distasteful.
It's not a football match ffs. You can just feel the excitement of TV producers at the prospect of updating everyone on every little incident on what is ultimately the passing of a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Nah. I'm anti-monarchy but I don't want the individuals to die. Not their fault they're born into such a ridiculous institution.
Does anyone know what time the main event will actually happen? Is it like an hour of that Swiss guy introducing Edgar Davids and the likes or is it one where we go straight to it?
Surely we get a day off? Probably multiple

I suppose it's natural in that for many this might be or at least seem like the most important moment in their professional careers. Some of them might have been covering the royal household for 30 or 40 years. And yes, some will undoubtably be r-soles, but you get those in all walks of life.

The UK monarchy has been aware for a long time, when compared to what has happened in other countries, the need to stay constantly in the minds of the British public, to maintain relevance as an institution. I find the live text a bit distasteful.
It's not a football match ffs. You can just feel the excitement of TV producers at the prospect of updating everyone on every little incident on what is ultimately the passing of a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

I suppose it's natural in that for many this might be or at least seem like the most important moment in their professional careers. Some of them might have been covering the royal household for 30 or 40 years. And yes, some will undoubtably be r-soles, but you get those in all walks of life.

Agree with Winston entirely here. The endless speculation about the potential death of an individual is disgusting but completely expected in this age of 24 hour news.

Says a person posting on a thread speculating about the Queens death 😂

To be fair, he didn't say he didn't find his own comment disgusting.
