ah yes, in form for maybe 6 months of the 7 seasons he's been here. He's one of the poster boys of Utd's decline.

He’s had one good season in 5-6 though.

Yeah, he was good for about a year and average to rubbish the rest of the time. I actually wonder if he even is capable of capturing that form again.

Lol you are hounding ronnie out the club but backing up Shaw who to be fair, has been garbage throughout his united career.

He was good all the time before the leg break which was a bad one

Respectfully disagree, he was ok occasionally good, nothing like his pre wc form.

Malacia has made a decent start and there's obviously the potential to improve. Shaw has had decent spells for us but there's always been a question mark over him. And as ETH had brought Malacia in, unless his form dips dramatically, he's going to be first choice. But if nothing else, it's good to have that competition

Shaw cant stay fit. We Would have been in trouble without Malacia this season.

That's not a true. He's very good at staying fat. Ah wait, you said "fit." You may have a point

Don't get me wrong, I like Shaw, and think he has been harshly treated by our fans, but Malacia looks a top, top talent.

Malacia may not be peak Shaw atm. But no pun intended you can see his hunger is far bigger.

He wants to be here. He wants to play for Erik. He will do whatever it takes to grow and learn, giving his all along the way.

He is the type of player we used to sign. Martinez too, you can see that even when they had bad games it won’t be for a lack of effort or trying and that’s all you can ask in the long run.

Happy with Martinez and malacia, both looking look good signings.

Shaw is a far superior defender. That is not in doubt,

Except by idiots of course.

But Malarkey may improve to match him. Time will tell.

there are always going to be a fair few fashionistas that are going to "go with the new" in these situations, plus a smattering of those that just hate for the sake of it. But transparency aside they need just to be ignored

No, he definitely controls the ball much better

Yeah that ball to set up sancho v Liverpool was awful

Shaw will never ever be reliable again (if he ever really was) so his time at the club as a starter is limited. Whether Malacia is good enough or the long term answer, I’m not sure but so far he’s stepped up and is a player I’d much rather see there than Shaw who’s just for me a sad reminder of the waste of the post SAF years

Impossible not to like Malacia & Martinez. Aside from the fact that they both look like really good players (with plenty of scope to develop & adapt further to the demands of PL football), they're exactly the sort of personalities and characters lift both the team and fans alike.

Hopefully Antony & Casemiro can get themselves up to speed sooner rather than later as well.

Shaw is 4 years older and has had 9 years playing in the premier league.

Malacia has had 4.5 games…

Talk that Shaw is better is absolute nonesense when for 7-8 years he’s been pretty poor

posted on 10/9/22

Malacia just needs to calm his knickers abit sometimes, diving in is all good and well but a good player will leave him for dead constantly if he keeps that up, hopefully that's something eth develops in his game
