Oooooh Gingernuts where are you?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m here mate. Unfortunately I do have a little bit of work to do.
Anyway, you shouldn’t answer a question with a question. I made a comment based on my understanding that you appeared to think it disrespectful that anyone would have some sense of relief or whatever that they would view this as part of the end of monarchy.
Again, is that wrong?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Erm you’ve got it totally wrong!! 🤣🤣
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s all I asked for goodness sake
So what is it you meant?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My comment “Pretty disrespectful lot we shouldn’t be suprised” was aimed at this
“I'm not sure what the fuss is here.i think that pointing to them booing the National Anthem and using it to suggest that it's likely they would boo during a minute's silence, is pretty reasonable.
I'm pretty sure that Celtic fans would do the same.
I have no problem with any of it. I'd expect Celtic and Liverpool fans to boo it and good luck to them
This disrespect for the national anthem and probably the minutes! It the mindless fans, nothing against the Royals
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They are not mindless. They have an opinion and that used to allowed in this country.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No saying people ain’t allowed an opinion ffs!!
What im saying there should be some respect shown during the anthem and definitely through the silence!
If you don’t agree with the Royals fair do’s, but booing a silence is a mindless act!
Look at the outcry when there’s been booing in the past over deaths of ex players of certain clubs!

how are they enforcing this ?

I've got several credible points that I've used to form my opinion and all you have is a childish response.
What makes you so convinced that a minutes silence would be perfectly observed then?
Please do tell me.
Because it's a fact that there's a significant section of the crowd who have very strong feelings against the Royal Mail family AND who have no shame with regards to how they behave in respect to a sensitive and serious subject.
So please do tell me where you get your confidence from.
Or is it just the fact that you can't bear to admit anything that is seen as a negative against Liverpool because you have the maturity of a 6 year old?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re vetting your own points as credible? Ok then.
You want to talk about minutes silences and possible disrespect of them, but haven’t been able to show any previous examples. There have been a lot of minutes silences before. I have no doubt that would have been respected.
Moreover like I said, the hysterical among the populous, which includes you by the way, have canceled everything on the premise that the monarchy would be disrespected.
If the national anthem to herald Charles struck up then for sure that would have been booed.
Not sure why you have a problem with that rather than the organisations that cancelled everything.
*Redinthehead - FreeGaza - فلسطين (U1860)
The situation is unprecented, so of course I don't have any examples.
Do you have any examples of Liverpools fans observing a minutes silence that is in respect to something or someone they hate?
Tell me... if there are Liverpool fans who happily sing songs about the Munich Air Disaster and boo/abuse Prince William, as well as booing the national anthem, why on earth is it so far fetched that those people might boo a minutes silence for the Queen.
Please do explain your reasoning, I'm all ears.
"the hysterical among the populous, which includes you by the way, have canceled everything on the premise that the monarchy would be disrespected."
That is complete fiction. I said nothing of the sort. Try reading my very first comment without the childish emotions.

loada schite would suffice. no-one is being forced to grieve.
Nobody is being forced to grieve but this collective “nation in mourning” is absolute horseshite. Other than the family, associates and genuine friends, who is it that is actually genuinely mourning?
And to an extent many people are being forced into a situation they neither desire nor need through sped enforced cancellations of everyday things like football and a bank holiday to clobber the country even more as it struggles with the many other issues it faces.

Some idiots think they are being forced, as is evident on here.
I agree the entire nation is not in mourning how much are I cant say, I think its fair to say that a high amount (not percentage) but amount are. Each to their own.
this is not a situation we havent faced before albeit different reasons behind it. Like I said bad weather has caused more postponements than this and just as much disruption.
Its not cancelations its postponements, the games still go ahead just at a different time. Who forced the postponements? Was it the police as a result of resources not being enough due to being diverted elsewhere?
they can't force mourning but they can say "we think we should so cancel stuff"

Why are there no away fans at either leg of the Rangers v Napoli ties?
Football is slowly being sanitised and the way clubs (particularly in Scotland) are starting to pick and choose to almost deny away supporters a seat by ridiculous restrictions on numbers just makes it even worse. It’s a growing trend unfortunately.
St Mirren being the latest shower. Wish we’d grow a backbone and just refuse any away tickets until they decide to be more accommodating. Whilst we’re at it, deny their support tickets at our grounds.
Hearts, Rangers and St Mirren come to mind.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The irony is that the only club in Scotland to deny away supporters an opportunity to watch their team during the pandemic - either in person or via pay per view - was Celtic.
But yeah, let's have a go at the other teams and skip over that little fact...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s just not the case at all Ivan. The layout at Celtic and the Covid protocols prevented “safe” access for an away support. It was a health authority decision.
You think Celtic would choose to miss out on income?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's odd that every single club - including Rangers - allowed away fans.
But even your safety thing...it still doesn't explain why PPV opportunities weren't made available to away fans (and again, even Rangers did that).

A minutes silence that is to be observed at Anfield always has.
Yeah you are part of the hysterical bunch of people that have cited possible disrespecting of the minutes silence when they haven’t been.
Based on what you just said about singing disrespectful songs, then you are seemingly pointing the finger at every football club in the country, including your own?
Also from Manchester :

You’ve tried to have a go at liverpool and celtic, and it’s come squarely back to hit you in the face.
You’re basically doing the monarchy’s spin doctors jobs for them. They are so fragile that they need useful idiots like you to continue to peddle some narrative so as to shield themselves from dissent.

I’ll just have to assume that essentially it’s “fwck you” to the many thousands of fans who have booked time off, flights, hotels, train tickets and the like and it’s just tough that they will lose most of that money?
Just so we’re clear on the “poor souls” comment and bearing in mind that it’ll be likely that it will mainly affect people on incomes where this matters?

Oh dear dear dear... you just can't grow up, calm down and discuss it as an adult, can you?
Do you ever stop to think that you're embarrassing yourself with your behaviour on here?
Absolutely pathetic.
Okay... I know that this applies to every set of football fans, you utter moron.
The difference is that United fans don't have a well documented problem with the monarchy, and nor do they have a history of booing and abusing the monarchy.
So there's not really any logical reason to expect United fans to disrupt a minute silence for the queen.
Are you getting it yet?
The fact I think that it's likely Liverpool fans would boo during a silence for the queen doesn't mean I think United fans are better than Liverpool fans.
It's not a point scoring exercise.

its nothing new, it happens all the time. No different than the weather cancelling games that most think is more than safe enough to travel in and play football in. These flights, hotels, train tickets and the likes are still valid just the football game ticket isnt.
If people are in a position that their lives are greatly affected cos they can watch a football game then they need to prioritise things a little more. Its not great but like I said nothing new especially in scottish football.
Third world problems. couple of games postponed thats all.
I do think its a disgrace to be forced to grieve though.
forced no, but what would you call it? people are being forced to cancel their plans.
we're grieving so f... the rest, they should grieve too.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Having the whole country in weeks of forced grieving is a mindless act.

Yeah you are part of the hysterical bunch of people that have cited possible disrespecting of the minutes silence when they haven’t been.
Based on what you just said about singing disrespectful songs, then you are seemingly pointing the finger at every football club in the country, including your own?
Also from Manchester :

You’re basically doing the monarchy’s spin doctors jobs for them. They are so fragile that they need useful idiots like you to continue to peddle some narrative so as to shield themselves from dissent.
